This project is deeply personal 🫂
It was born from love — and built with love for the people who will use it.
Every year, my wife and I try to surprise each other for our birthdays. We moved past material gifts long ago. Last November, Victoria threw me a surprise party with all of our friends — it was incredible.
So this year, I had to top it.
The hard part? Her friends, coworkers, and family live all over the world.
So I collected their video messages and built something crazy:
A personal Netflix — just for her 🚀
A real website, styled like Netflix.
But instead of movies — heartfelt greetings. With categories, search, and full-screen playback.
She cried, she laughed, she felt like the star of her own show.
And that’s when she said:
"We have to make this a template. Everyone deserves this kind of gift."
So we turned it into Feelix — feelings + Netflix.
It’s simple to set up, and honestly… the reaction is everything.

How do you manage to keep playback smooth across various devices, especially since you support all video formats?
@benjamin_anderson3 thank you for the feedback! Great question — and yes, making it feel like a streaming platform is half the magic.
On the playback side:
All uploaded videos are transcoded server-side to ensure consistent performance across devices.
We support most standard formats at upload (MP4, MOV, WebM, etc.), and everything is normalized to H.264 for smooth browser playback.
Videos are streamed via adaptive delivery, so they play reliably on mobile, tablet, and desktop.
Our goal was to make something that looks cinematic, but works as easily as uploading to Google Drive. No friction — just hit play.

You can upload videos, customize categories, and build your entire Feelix site straight from your phone — no laptop needed 👍
How does Feelix manage video compression or optimize large files? Uploading hefty formats is fantastic but playback speed and load times are equally crucial for a great user experience.
@emily_hernandez3 Great question! Right now, Feelix doesn’t compress or optimize videos automatically — so we recommend uploading files under 100 MB for the best experience. But we'll put the compression thingy in our roadmap!
That way, playback stays smooth and the site loads quickly on any device.

Does Feelix allow for private or password protected video libraries?

Private or password-protected video libraries are available with our "Full Setup" plan.
If privacy is a priority (for personal moments or internal use), we’ll handle the configuration for you — no tech needed.

Such an amazing tool but can users embed videos from external sources like YouTube or Vimeo or is everything hosted solely on Feelix?

We designed Feelix to be incredibly easy to set up, but still flexible where it matters.
🎨 You can fully customize:
- Category names & order
- Video titles, description and tags
- Cover images
- Domain (like yourname.feelix.us)
Right now, the layout follows a Netflix-style template to keep the cinematic vibe — but we’re working on additional themes and design options so creators can better match their brand.
So yes — emotion first, but style is on the way too 💛
