Hey Product Hunt Community!
Troy here, founder of Epiphany.
If you’re like me, most of your ideas don’t show up when you’re sitting at your desk. They come when you’re walking, driving, or in the middle of something else.
The problem? Getting those thoughts into a place where they’ll actually be useful is a pain. Unlocking your phone, finding the right app, dodging notifications, and typing it all out adds too much friction.
That’s why we built Epiphany, to make it as frictionless as possible to put your ideas to work with voice.
🎙️ Why Epiphany?
→ Capture thoughts instantly without breaking focus.
→ Send where they need to go in the tools you already use.
→ Just open, speak, send.
🎙️ What’s next?
🚀 More integrations. You’ll be able to upvote your favorites inside the app (coming soon).
🚀 AI-powered prompting and smart field population.
🚀 Even less friction for your daily workflows.
🚀 Android app. Join the waitlist on the site.
👉 Stop losing ideas. Start putting them to work.

We really want to build a product people love to use.
👇 Drop your comments below 🙏. We'd love to hear from you!
@masump Right now we have a language selection option in the profile settings and support around 55 languages. Which language(s) are you looking to use? Or you mean using multiple languages in one epiphany?

@troy_gasnier Really cool, Troy! Looks amazing.
@valsopi Thanks! Just trying to do our part to help people capture ideas on the go!

@troy_gasnier Interesting concept. I've been using voice memos for capturing ideas while walking, but the friction of manually moving those thoughts into my task apps is real. Nice to see something that bridges that gap without all the bells and whistles. Might give this a try for my occasional "shower thoughts" that usually disappear before I can do anything with them.
this is a really useful project, I'll try because we have so many syncs with our team
Real competitor for build-in voice2text functions 🚀
@goshatirov Thanks! We're trying to make it as frictionless as possible to get thoughts and ideas to the places where they can get executed.
Wow! That's what I was looking for :) Sometimes it's nearly impossible to write when you are driving the car.
Congrats on the launch! :)
@bator_rybdylov Great! Hope you'll give it a try and report back how it works for you!
OrgaNice
Great idea @troy_gasnier !
Congrats on the launch! Will definitely try the app
@andrewfan Appreciate that! Would love to hear about your use cases once you get set up!
Looking forward to trying it out — hope it finally beats pen and paper!
@kirill_golubovskiy Awesome, let me know how you get on with it! Pen and paper still have their moments 😆.
Elisi : AI-powered Goal Management App
This is such a brilliantly simple yet powerful idea, Troy! 🚀 So many of us have experienced that frustration—great ideas hit at the worst times, and by the time we sit down to write them down, poof, they’re gone.
The frictionless voice capture approach of Epiphany is a game-changer for productivity, especially for creatives, founders, and anyone juggling multiple tasks. No more losing ideas to the ether!
Super excited about the upcoming AI-powered prompting—that could take voice notes beyond just capture into intelligent action. Also, Android users will be happy to hear about the waitlist!
Curious—how smart is the integration routing? Does Epiphany auto-categorize or tag ideas based on context before sending them to tools like Notion, Slack, or email? That would be amazing for organizing thoughts effortlessly.
Congrats on the launch—this is solving a real problem in a beautifully simple way! 🔥🎙️
@williamrobertscott Thanks for the comment!
The integration routing is user configured. Users tell us they like the control of knowing exactly where the epiphany is going to go.
Right now we have up to 5 action buttons that can be configured for the most common places/tools users send epiphanies.
That said, we do have plans to enable AI field input options for certain aspects of the action (ex. Asana due date).
@faizanjan_ thanks! Re: voice recognition. It depends on the language/accent, but it's usually upper 90s percent accuracy. And we're exploring ways to make it even more accurate in the future. We do have a 'special word' section where you can input things like proper names or companies that may commonly be misspelled. We take privacy and security seriously and give users control of the data. And we have roadmap plans to enable an auto delete option after a certain user set period within the app for those that don't want to store their epiphanies in app after routing.
That’s true. Inspiration always strikes unexpectedly, and if it’s not captured immediately, it can be forgotten. Epiphany will be a great tool for capturing our inspirations.
@focusaur 💯 That was one of the initial premises, to allow people to easily capture those fleeting thoughts and ideas when they come. And then to get that thought to a place where it actually gets utilized.
What are you usually doing when those inspirations come?
Very nice idea! Congrats on your launch, @troy_gasnier :) Looking forward to the integration with Asana.
@michal_kuchta Thanks! We have Asana currently integrated, so you can create tasks directly from Epiphany.
@troy_gasnier @Epiphany Wow! I think no more forgetting ideas! voice to task is really cool! I will try it!
@won_park Thanks Won! Which tools do you currently use that you might connect to?
Croct
Loved that you have all these integrations!
Thanks@amorimj ! Just trying to make it as easy as possible to capture and make use of your awesome ideas!
This app is really cool! 🤩 I might have to pull out the plastic for this one!
I don't see a way to report issues via the website, so here they are. A few minor snags I hit:
When installing the Obsidian Plugin, I had to restart obsidian to get the "new tab" to login to my Epiphany account
For Obsidian "Add to existing note", is there a limitation that it won't let me choose an existing note? It defaults to "Epiphany notes" (which I don't see present), and won't let me change.
When creating a new action in the app. If you update the custom prefix of the action, it's hard to get to the save button on the bottom. If you hit "return" it will hide the keyboard, but I think a lot of apps switch that to the "keyboard symbol" to make it more apparent.
a few things that would be nice:
Be able to specify a folder within Obsidian where all new notes get dropped into.
Be able to specify a note title template for Obsidian note. Eg, adding the current date to each note.
Congrats on launch! I've wanted something like this for a long time ..
@tleyden Thanks so much!
We do have a customer support center on the profile tab in app, but not on the website.
I really appreciate the feedback!
Our Obsidian integration is definitely a v1. Completely agree with your points.
We're going to be updating the plugin to where you can do the login in the plugin settings itself without a new tab.
You're right, for now you can only add to the Epiphany Notes note. When you create your first epiphany, that note should appear.
We do have that hard set currently because we are working to open it up to selecting any existing note to append to, as well as more options for folders/organization if you want to create a new note per epiphany.
And good shout on the prefix/keyboard. We'll check that out.
I'll follow up in app via Intercom.
Slidejoy
Congrats on the idea and launch Troy! Such a simple yet powerful idea. Love the integration with productivity tools. I was wondering, does the app know which idea to send to each software? For example a team communication do you have to let know the app to send it via Slack? Or you have to program it individually.
@slidejoy Really appreciate it!
Good question. The way it works is you configure an action button with the tool you want to connect with and select a few settings (channel/dm for example if using Slack). Then you can have up to 5 (currently) to instantly route the thought to.
Users really like to know exactly where their messages are going, so we enable that with the configurable options to make it as fast and frictionless as possible.
Congratulations for the launch @troy_gasnier :)
This is super helpful for day to day routine tasks!
@koshima_satija Thanks! Definitely useful for capturing tasks at the moment you think of them!
@iralobanovskaya Good question! Like the native voice recorder you mean? Think of Epiphany like the recorder, but instead of saving the recording and then having to do something with it, instantly sending the text from the note to the place where it needs to go to get utilized.
@troy_gasnier yeah, native voice recorder or telegram voice messages. Because the best button to catch the idea is the closest one. But this is 100% not a perfect system, thats why I'm curious. I TBH hate tana and obsidian for theirs complexity and within my personal experience of a marketer and PR specialist, such complex products don't have much potential to become giants.
@iralobanovskaya well said! Agree the closest button is the best button! That's why we made the action button access and lock screen widgets.
I do agree people often get caught up managing that system rather than getting value from it.
Congrats on your launch, Troy!
Epiphany reminds me of Nick's Talknotes. What advantages does this have in comparison?
@bonvisions Thanks, and good question! There are a lot of voice note tools, but I think it's a bit of a different proposition. Our goal is to enable the frictionless capture of ideas and thoughts while on the go and instantly send them to the productivity tools you already use. Hope you'll give it a try to see how fast it is in person!

Congrats on the launch. Love the name and messaging around sending an epiphany. I feel like I've been waiting for something like this to be made—I always have my best ideas when out for a run! I even suggested at work we add a voice note feature to our productivity tool @Hylark Looking forward to trying this out with your current integrations.
@natasha_007 Really appreciate that! And we get you 100%! The good ones come when we aren't at the keyboard and the friction of getting them to a useful place is why we're here. If you have tools you use you'd like to send epiphanies to that we don't integrate with yet, feel free to message in the support section of the app.
Can this be used for meeting recordings? Does it recognize different speakers, or is it mainly for personal notes?
@bibberfell Thanks for the note. It could be used, but not intended for meeting recordings. It's meant to be for personal input and output to your productivity tools.
Love the focus on voice as an idea-capture tool—so many apps force typing. can I tag ideas by theme or project? If I ramble about both a startup idea and my kid’s birthday party, will Epiphany sort them into separate buckets automatically?
@desmond_ren1 thanks! At first I read "startup ideas at a kid's birthday party 🤣", which could happen too!
In that situation though, because it's so easy to start, speak, and send, most users would just create two separate epiphanies. But with some of the upcoming prompting functionality, you could easily have it separate out the ideas for a bit more clarity into whichever tool you've chosen.
