Envoy Passport for iPhone has been an awesome app for me, I'm glad to see it now on Android. When I visit a co-working space (or startup that uses Envoy). I can just walk up to the sign-in iPad and see a picture of my face; I just touch that and I'm signed in, no typing or data entry. The app also serves as a passport to log all my visits to various offices.

Welkio who launched 5 months ago have just been acquired by WeWork do you have a similar strategy for getting exposure in remote office spaces?
Jack Smith
@bentossell do you mean co-working spaces? Envoy already powers Galvanize and other coworking offices similar to WeWork

@_jacksmith seems to me that visitor sign in software is pretty level across companies... Wonder if the dominant player here will be determined based on the co-working spaces they occupy.

@bentossell Things like this Passport app are the differentiator imho. Envoy is in SO MANY startups in SF now. So if you have the app on your phone, you can just walk into any startup/coworking space that uses Envoy and sign in with one tap, no data entry. That's a big differentiator in terms of user experience imho; as typing on ipads/iphones with a finger can kind of suck. and Envoy are BY FAR the dominant player from what I've seen. They've raised $16mil+ and had their series A led by Andreesen Horowitz.

@_jacksmith yeh but I guess the one tap sign in is a feature that can be adopted by others, like Welkio. Yeah Ive read about their funding, and not saying one is dominant over the other (because I don't know) - but with WeWorks continued global growth and its brand, being a part of that company (for Welkio) is going to be awesome

@bentossell right. but I think the main differentiator imho is the penetration that Envoy has across multiple spaces. I (as a visitor) am not going to download Welkio only to sign in to WeWork spaces. I use the Passport envoy app because I can use it to sign in at startups, coworking spaces etc. one of the best features about Passport is being able to have a log of all the places I visited like this: which Welio wouldn't be able to do if they decide to only limit themselves to WeWork spaces. I also believe that this Passport thing is only the start. Envoy has also announced that they enable startups to reimburse job candidates their travel expenses via Envoy. I think Envoy can get huge as a platform and wish I'd reached out to get involved with them earlier on in their company life
