As featured by Apple and Gizmodo: 1 public transport app, wherever you go! • 160+ cities, 1 app Gone are the days of needing a different public transport app for any city you visit. Embark works in in over 15 countries! • Live, real-time tracking Tap on any stop or station to see the services arriving next, including live times - so you know when that next bus is actually arriving instead of just when it's supposed to. • One-tap directions to your favourite places Add and save your favourite destinations, so you can quickly get step-by-step directions to them, from wherever you are. • Uber integration Search for a destination or tap on one of your favourites to see Uber as an option beneath public transport ones - we give you a fare estimate as well. Just tap to book! • Live times on your Apple Watch Now all you need to do is glance at your wrist to see when your next bus, train, tram or ferry is arriving! • A tailored digest to keep you entertained Time will fly while on your trip. Embark serves up a feed of the web’s most popular content in a personalised feed that you can save or share • Better information, stuff that matters Type in a destination and Embark will show you the best options to get there, with important details like carbon emissions and the calories you'll burn. • Next-gen interaction with screens Like magic, you'll very soon be able to interact with screens at stops and stations, just by being near them. Vote on that poll, download that trailer, or like that jacket for later! • More value just for you, near you Embark understands your frequented routes, so keep an eye on the map for freebies and other offers at places you love! Get on board!

@jamieskella Featured by Apple but Apple bought a company called Embark that did this a few years ago?
Mike Boyd
@brackin @jamieskella The Embark that Apple bought did only 1/3 of what our Embark does. The original Embark is now the transit component of Apple Maps.

Congrats on getting hunted. IT looks great for cities that has no public transport data in Google maps, but how will this be better for the ones that has the data in Google Maps
Jamie Skella
@saijo_george Hey Saijo, Embark's UI has a few big benefits over Google Maps, such as the ability to tap on stops and stations to see lists of arriving buses, trains, trams and more. Google Maps on the other hand, only gives you information about the location. We've also built a better favourites list, include live times in places that Google doesn't, and more!

The interface is so great! I am just not so sure about the "entertainment" feature. I mean it seems like to me that it is quite unnecessary to use half of the tabs for it when everybody has their form of entertainment on their phones.
Jamie Skella
@marekfort the "Collection" is less about entertainment and more about geographical value-adds. More on this soon!

Do you have any plans to allow the community to add stuff to the platform? That is the thing I am missing in most other public transit apps.
Jamie Skella
@craftbyte hey Anže, what sort of stuff did you have in mind? We're certainly open to the idea!
Anže Jenšterle
@jamieskella Something like allowing people to contribute their local times of buses etc. I had an idea long ago about making something like a wiki where everyone can contribute the local bus times etc. into one app.

While the app does look promising, it does not show the bus I use the most to get to the train station in Pasadena. Citymapper wins for me here

How does it differ from moovit?
Anže Jenšterle
Wondering how this compares to Citymapper? Also, your phone number field is an email type :)
Jamie Skella
@craftbyte hey Anže, Embark works in 100s of cities globally, not just a few. We'll fix up that field!

Great app ! How did you do to aggregate all this data from that much countries and cities ? It should be a really huge amount of work ! Really what we need since a long time, better than 1 app for every city ! Just wondering about the entertainment part :)
Jake
Seems to work well - I like how it shows your CO2 impact, and how many calories you'll use up!

Not in Hungary though 😄😄
Jamie Skella
@noxowe it's on the list, Laszlo! Stay tuned.

@jamieskella looking forward to it. Even official websites have wrong times here, only the papers at bus stations worth listing. You should count with this :D
Vansh Taneja

@vanshtaneja567 That's great to hear! What city are you in?
