eesel Extensions — All your work in one place - now also on Firefox

eesel is a filter on your browser history to just show pages relevant for work. It works with pretty much any tool. It runs locally, so your work never leaves your computer. A few months after our launch on Chrome, we’re now on Firefox too!

Hey Product Hunt! I'm Julien, and I'm building eesel with @amoghito and @kant01ne . If you're anything like us, you probably work with a lot of documents: project briefs in Google Docs, planning in Notion, issues in Github, designs in Figma, and so on. Things can get real messy, real fast. eesel is a filter on your browser history to just show pages relevant for work. It lets you search across titles and content, so you can find the pages you need quickly. There's no need to create an account, grant scary API permissions or even manually connect tools. Things just work right after install. Oh and - the content of your pages never leaves your browser. It's only stored locally, and stays there. We launched eesel as a Chrome extension on Product Hunt, and one of the main requests we received was to port the extension on Firefox. So here it is! eesel is now available on Firefox with all our new updates like dark mode, and Commands to automate recurring tasks. We'd love to get your feedback! Cheers, Amogh, Kevin, and Julien

Lovely! I remember checking out eesel on Chrome a long while ago and really liking it. I use Firefox though so it’s great I can use it again! I don’t like this “new folder” sidebar though. I don’t need it (at least not for now), so it makes my new tab look cluttered for no reason. Can you add a button that hides it?
amogh
@anna_0x So cool to hear you remember us from our Chrome launch! You can resize and collapse the sidebar to get that out of the way for now. Made a little video on that :) https://www.loom.com/share/9ac45...

@jascha_zittel thanks mate!

@amoghito Thanks for taking the time to make a video about this! Honestly, I would have never noticed it’s dragable. 😅 I was expecting a collapse or menu icon.
amogh
@anna_0x Makes a lot of sense! We should look into making that more discoverable 🧐

So keen to have eesel on another browser. I've been meaning to dabble with Firefox for a while and having eesel on Chrome only was one of the main things keeping me from that haha. If you're a Firefox user, you'll defo like our approach to privacy. We're pretty inspired by Firefox ourselves, and have really tried to replicate that privacy focus with eesel. Your content is stored locally only, and we don't even ask for an email when you get started. Keen to hear how it goes for you! ✨

@amoghito congrats mate! And best of luck with the launch. It's a nifty little add on to my browsing experience.

eesel is really cool! I was using it a lot on Chrome but my habit dropped off when I switched to some native apps like Linear. Going to look into picking it up again, congrats on the launch! 👏👏👏

@cmdkhalilov Thanks mate! Keen to see how it goes 🤩

Eesel is a great addition to Firefox, especially if you're moving out of Chrome and working with many different productivity tools. Admittedly, Chrome's native search bar does the trick if all your work stream is mainly on Google Workspace, but if you use other tools, the native search bar is not enough. Eesel will definitely boost your productivity!

Been using eesel on Chrome for a while. Only makes sense to give its power to the Firefox crowd, too! Congrats on the launch, guys!
amogh
@jascha_zittel Thanks mate! Cool to hear your use has evolved from 0 to 1 over time haha.

Really helpful if you’re a browser Bowser.

Very cool product. It's like Notion's "global search" but across the browser. For developers in particular (what was that docs page again?) it can really be a time saver.
amogh
@zachcaceres Love the analogy to Notion's global search. Also, fun fact - I think you're the first person using Brave on eesel we came across haha. Thanks for your support!

Been using Eesel on Chrome for a few weeks and so valuable to someone who opens few too many tabs (i.e. me) I have been loving the auto add feature in folders... It is VERY easy to scan the folder and title when you are working in a single contextual area and the titles are just listed. Way easier than having to hover over tabs to see the title! This should be an even stronger for Firefox due its limited search functionality available out of the box!
