This could be fun, especially for office shenanigans. I actually know someone working on a similar concept.

I hate these Facebook required apps. This seems like a ton of fun, but no Facebook makes it useless. Would be nice to have Facebook Required somewhere in the description to avoid an unnecessary download, too.

@dhulser Sorry. It was a challenge coming up with a way to "authenticate" others to send you Derps. Phone numbers and usernames didn't seem so smart, given that anyone could guess your username or phone number and potentially annoy the crap out of you. I'll make sure to add this to the description.

@natekapi It seems like there are a lot of other ways to auth, no? Why not give options -- FB, Twitter, Google, or username. Is it too complicated to add an "accept friend" type set up? Since I can't access I'm not sure, but does this allow you to Derp any facebook friend without approving? Seems like that could be abused pretty badly too.

Cool idea! I wrote something like this a few years ago and called it Sound Party. The first prototype was a lot like like this one, but I found that it started working best when more traditional chat features were incorporated. The sounds were triggered by adding a hashtag to the message. Maybe something for you to play around with.

Hey everyone, Nate here, the product guy behind Derp. Any questions, feel free to ask away. Derp was a labor of love, because we're pranksters at heart, so I hope you all can find the right moment to use this on friends that will make you laugh so hard you pee your pants.
