Τhe massive impact of the COVID-19 crisis and the subsequent lock-down, had many people using a variety of online tools to monitor the pandemic's progress. Unfortunately, the vast majority of those tools had a very poor mobile experience. Since most users nowadays browse the internet on their smartphones, it is needless to say what a disadvantage this was. Therefore, we decided to build a monitoring tool to overcome this issue. Also, I believe the pandemic will be particularly crucial for the EU both economically and politically, and therefore the focus was on the EU countries - an option which wasn't offered by the existing tools until now. The UK was included in the EU countries list, as not only it's still so tied in every way with the EU, but there are millions of European citizens living in the UK and vice versa.
