In my 13 years of marketing the most successful marketing campaigns I've done in my career didn't come from marketing at all. It came from doing right by my customer/clients, treating them like human beings & going above and beyond for our customers. When I did this in 2007-2008 it was called "excellent customer service", it's now referred to as customer delight.
As a result of my customer delight efforts our biggest source of growth came from our current customers (40-60% of new customers came from referrals or WOM).
