Large Language Models are here to stay and be part of everyone's toolkit. Whether you use them directly or indirectly, you are going to be a user of LLMs in your daily work in the near future. As more businesses and creators use LLMs there is a need to have alternatives to GPT3 both for reasons of avoiding monopoly, business continuity and application complexity or specific use cases. CO:here is one great alternative that I have come across. Their approach is to closely mirror GPT3 in terms of offering, which means that if you are already using GPT3 as a developer or product manager, there is zero learning curve or friction in trying out Cohere as an alternative. It is important for all of us to try out and use (as the case maybe) multiple LLM platforms (both closed and open source) because they would become the backbones of our products in the future.
