This looks like a really handy tool – kinda like Lead Forensics but for free, and in your inbox? Always love Clearbit's design and execution – so slick. Congrats to all who worked on this!
Brian H
@jamesjgill thanks James - we really appreciate it! If/when you give it a try and have any feedback please send it our way :)

Congrats on the launch, Clearbit team! Such a great way for people to easily test out and see the value of Reveal 💪

@ahiggz Thanks Ash!!

👋 Hello Product Hunt! I’m Justin, PM for the latest free tool that my team at Clearbit has been working on for the last few months — the Weekly Visitor Report. Thank you @hnshah for the hunt! Before I ramble on though, I want to give a special shout-out to my fellow maker, @briantvh. He just had a baby boy and is on pat leave. This launch wouldn't have been possible without him. ❤️ Every day, companies visit your website and don't fill out forms or identify themselves. Many of these companies are interested in your solutions and are good fits for your business, but for whatever reason, aren't ready to raise their hands and give you their info. If you’re like many marketers we know, this means big-time pipeline FOMO. So we created the Weekly Visitor Report — and made it free! — so that no one has to experience this FOMO ever again. 💪 Powered by Clearbit Reveal, our IP intelligence technology, the Weekly Visitor Report allows you to de-anonymize website visitors and take action. Simply install a lightweight script on your website, and voilá — we'll match IP addresses to companies and send you a weekly interactive summary of the ones that have visited your website most. But there’s more. The report lets you break down your visitors by number of visits, acquisition channel, and company attributes that include Industry, Employee Size, Revenue, Technologies, and much more. The Weekly Visitor Report instantly gives folks in marketing, growth, and demand generation new visibility into their website traffic, and can be used to: - Prioritize outbound based on intent - Notify sales reps of activity from key accounts - Gauge the quality of traffic you're driving with your campaigns We’re so excited to see how the Product Hunt community will use the tool, and are eager to get your feedback along the way! Please install the tool and let us know what you think at growth@clearbit.com.

This is awesome! Congrats on the launch Clearbit team!
Justin Tsang
@ryannarod Thank you Ryan for your support!
Vadym Shcherbakov
Great product! Could you please clarify what is the difference between Clearbit and Leadfeeder in case of visitors insights? Is it possible to track visitors online using Clearbit?
Justin Tsang
@vadim_shcherbakov Hey Vadym, great question. Without getting too deep into the nitty gritty, I think the best way to compare the Weekly Visitor Report and Leadfeeder is to think of them as a delicious snack 🧁 vs. a full meal 🍔. :) The report is free + lightweight, and will identify and break down your top company visitors each week — making it easy to use those insights to help you generate more business. Whereas Leadfeeder is a great, comprehensive paid solution that has everything you'd expect from an established player in the visitor identification space. That said, I do want to point out that the Visitor Report is powered by Clearbit Reveal (which is our paid IP intelligence product), and that Reveal is built to do exactly what you're asking about. It tracks and identifies your website visitors, and then puts that intelligence exactly where you need it — be it your chat, personalization, advertising, marketing automation / CRM platforms!
Justin Tsang
@vadim_shcherbakov my pleasure, and thank you!
Walter Chen
awesome to see clearbit continue to hone in on use cases. would love to hear about how you identified this specific application for reveal!
Janet Choi
@smalter Great question! We see a ton of customers gain insights & power from being able to detect which companies are visiting (like real-time personalization, lead sourcing, attribution, and more) but there wasn't really a way to trial it for yourself. Our team wanted to create a version where B2B marketers & teams can experience this visibility for free, and what's cool is that this is informing how we think about evolving the Reveal product experience as well!
Henry Brown
I was a beta tester of this tool and now my sales team looks forward to getting their report every week – congrats on the launch, JT & team! 👏
Justin Tsang
@henrycabrown We couldn't have built this tool without you and your team's help. Thank you so much for being awesome.
Olu
This is exactly what we were looking for at Prelo! I can't wait to get this installed. I'll be sure to come back and share some feedback. Clearbit Reveal looks amazing...
Arpit Choudhury
Curious to learn how it identifies companies when folks visiting are working from home and not using the company network
Justin Tsang
@irhymeth Hey Arpit - great question. Our Data team did a lot of work to address this after COVID-19 created the WFH-era we currently live in. The work we did included: 1) Fine-tuning our algorithms and retraining our machine learning models to teach them about "work from home" behaviors, and making adjustments for geography, as different cities and states announced lockdowns or plans to reopen. 2) Creating new proprietary approaches to matching domains to IP addresses. 3) Allowing our IP intelligence technology to continue to do what it was built to do — automatically learn and improve based on the flood of signals from new IP addresses and identify the employer of visitors who used a VPN when working from home. If you want more detail, we wrote about it here on our blog! https://clearbit.com/blog/ip-int...
Valentin Huang
Congrats on the launch @justinjtsang Quick question: is there a way to export the report as a csv? Also, how does it differenciate from tools like Albacross and Leadfeeder?
Justin Tsang
@vhuang Hey Valentin! Yes, there is. :) In terms of differentiation, my recommendation is to think of the Weekly Visitor Report as a light, appetizer, and full platforms like Albacross and Leadfeeder as full course meals. The Visitor Report is free + lightweight, and will identify and break down your top company visitors each week — making it easy to use those insights to help you generate more business. Whereas platforms like Albacross and Leadfeeder are great, comprehensive paid solutions that have everything you'd expect from established players in the visitor identification space. Ivan Palii
I used Clearbit for enrichment of client profiles and it gives me a lot of insights. This new tool looks even easier. Thanks!
Brian H
@ivanpalii thanks Ivan, we're delighted you like it! If you have any feedback please send it our way :)
Pablo Penades
Here it goes another fantastic product and for free. I can see this playing SO well with Unbounce landing pages. I've already installed it on a few pages and I'm impressed by the quality of the data collected, damn! Great job @briantvh @justinjtsang and team!
Janet Choi
Love that pairing idea @pepenades! Like wine & cheese.
Justin Tsang
@pepenades Thx Pablo! So excited to see more folks use this report with their PPC landing pages. Just imagine how many visitors are hitting landing pages and not converting, and then disappearing into the void!
Andrew Breen
Understanding what traffic sources drive companies in your ICP is invaluable. And now it's free? Awesome!
Brian H
@andrew_breen1 thanks Andrew, we're delighted you like it :)
Joe Savitch
Super cool! I love the Clearbit products and when @justinjtsang and @briantvh are on the job you KNOW it is going to be good. Are there plans in this beta (or in full release) to allow agency marketers like myself to use this on behalf of customers? I can see installing this and making it part of our product offer for customers. Thanks!!!
Justin Tsang
@joe_savitch You're too kind sir. This is definitely something we've considered. Wanna hop on a call soon? Would love to pick your brain on how we could build something that'd be most helpful for you + your clients!
Joe Savitch
@justinjtsang Absolutely! I'm on east coast time. Let me know when you would have some time in the next couple of weeks.
Justin Tsang
@joe_savitch I'll send you an email today!
Douglas Voeten
Congrats on the launch, will definitely try it out. Curious how good your international coverage is, and what identification rate of visitors is possible with many people still working from home.
Justin Tsang
@douglas_malcolm Hey Douglas! Pumped to hear your thoughts after you try out the tool. We're very proud of our international coverage - and were excited to have quite a few of our early beta testers be based outside of North America. And great question about WFH. After the unfortunate onset of COVID-19, our talented Data team did a lot of work to help us adapt to the new WFH-era. This resulted in us returning to, and now exceeding, our pre-pandemic ability to match WFH website visitors to their companies. In case you want some specifics, the work we did included: 1) Fine-tuning our algorithms and retraining our machine learning models to teach them about "work from home" behaviors, and making adjustments for geography, as different cities and states announced lockdowns or plans to reopen. 2) Creating new proprietary approaches to matching domains to IP addresses. 3) Allowing our IP intelligence technology to continue to do what it was built to do — automatically learn and improve based on the flood of signals from new IP addresses and identify the employer of visitors who used a VPN when working from home. More info here on our blog: https://clearbit.com/blog/ip-int... Hopefully this helps!
Corey Dilley
A quick way to see what businesses are most interested and get some hot new leads for sales. What's not to like?
Justin Tsang
@corey_dilley1 Appreciate the shout-out Corey!
Vytautas Savickas
How does this tracking pixel impact web performance? Currently sensitive with all google changes and it looks heavy. Is it similar to your reveal tool just for comparison?
arminas
Hello @iamsvytas, the script runs async and is very lightweight. It's designed in a way that it should never block the main javascript thread for a significant amount of time. Therefore performance should never be an issue. The sole purpose of it is to place a pixel image that collects the data. Feel free to write to growth@clearbit.com if you still have any performance questions!
Jim Smith
Cool product, but do have some things I feel should be called out. This is not free as you the marketer are exchanging your customers first party data for this service from clearbit. If you review the tos/privacy policy you will see these terms in place. Given the growing concerns around privacy, and positions taken by google, apple and other around notice, choice, consent, and use of cookies and other anonymous identifiers I think Clearbit is not being a good steward here as it's not clear or transparent that it's a value exchange agreement, and not a freebie. Believe I'd rather pay a nominal fee for similar/better service, than give away my most valuable asset, and also breach my customers trust.
Scott Strand
@jim_smith3 Thanks for the feedback! That's a very real concern, and we take privacy very seriously. With IP intelligence tools, we won't return personal information (like a person's name, phone number, or email address)...it is simply pulling company info associated with the IP address. Most commercial websites should already have a disclosure in their privacy policy that they use pixel tags to collect IP addresses, which may then be used to analyze web traffic and derive insights. (Note: this does not constitute legal advice)
Larissa M.
@jim_smith3 @scottjstrand very neat tool! I was also wondering about privacy - it seems under GDPR IP addresses are in fact considered 'personal info'. Did you test with users in Europe?
Scott Strand
@jim_smith3 @lmurillom Yep, good question! Since the WVR only provides company data based on IP addresses, it doesn't really intersect with GDPR and other privacy regulations that focus on protecting the data of “natural persons" (individuals), not “legal persons" (which companies are sometimes considered). The CCPA states: “[I]f a business collects the IP addresses of visitors to its websites but does not link the IP address to any particular consumer or household, and could not reasonably link the IP address with a particular consumer or household, then the IP address would not be ‘personal information.”
Sheridan Jamieson
Super easy to set-up and great reporting - the only decision you need to make is how you're going to use all this extra website traffic data :)
Paul Wicker
Got a chance to use this in beta here at mütesync and loved two things about it. 1. Seeing brands on our page gave me a better sense of who was coming to the page. It's one thing to use analytics tools to to learn your traffic is from "Footwear and Apparel" it's another to know that Nike has been frequently coming to your site. 2. When pitching investors and talking about how our product (a physical, lighted Zoom mute button) resonate with corporate buyers it helps to show data. Actual visits from fortune 500 brands speaks volumes.
Eric Siu
This looks awesome!
Justin Tsang
@ericosiu Thanks Eric!
