@lukaszmtw Congratulations! Very exciting improvements. What will happen with CleanShot users via Setapp?
Luke Oslizlo
@heliostatic yes, the app is available in Setapp already! :)

@lukaszmtw I can't imagine a day without CleanShot ever since I've started using it. It's super fast to quickly take a screenshot, highlight changes, and share with my team via slack, hangouts, or email. Such a time saver. Capturing the Gif is super cool. I used to use dropbox in order to store these Gifs. Now the X version took care of that, and that's Awesome! I bet everyone should have it. ๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿป

Just bought this. The Scrolling Capture feature is worth it by itself. Well done!

There's so much opportunity in the space of taking Mac OS features and 10x-ing them. What's hard is the execution. The new CleanShot goes above and beyond its predecessor in terms of finesse and thoughtfulness. Best $29 you'll spend this month.
Luke Oslizlo
@shawnroos Thanks a lot Shawn! ๐Ÿ™Œ

This is a truly awesome utility for IT professionals who have the need to constantly take screenshots and share them. There is a copy feature, annotate feature and so many more which I absolutely love.
Luke Oslizlo
@torchaj Thanks a lot! I'm really glad you love using CleanShot. ๐Ÿ˜

TL;DR: Simply no other tool can match the level of Cleanshot. Fast, intuitive and doing features at hand when you need 'em. Been using Cleanshot for the past year and it's one of those tools I can't live without. The quality of product is top notchโ€” and so is the support from Luke and Paweล‚. (well done guys)
Luke Oslizlo
@morajabi Thank you Mo! ๐Ÿคฉ

Super super excited for this new, expanded version of CleanShot! The scrolling capture alone is worth the price of admission (I'd been using Xnip for this previously).

@lukaszmtw I bought it. Features I want: 1) magnifying glass with crosshairs to make area capture pixel perfect. Download Xnap and look at how they do it; it's better than yours in that way. 2) after selecting area, make `spacebar` and/or `enter` to take the shot, rather than click.

Awesome product, bought it straight away. Is GIF and video uploading supposed to work? Thatโ€™s what the video suggests but canโ€™t find the option.
Luke Oslizlo
@jornvandijk Sorry, the free plan offers only screenshot uploading for now.

@lukaszmtw What an amazing powerful product. I've been interested in screenshots for a while, it seems like a new medium for communication. I even wrote an article on it https://medium.com/@SamuelBeek/t.... Your tools seems to have tackled a lot of my frustrations and ideas for taking and sending screenshots on the desktop. I was wondering what next steps are: Where is this product moving, will it be more of a utility or a platform around screenshots? will you make more communication features or capture ones?

Lovely update. One thing I wish you could bring though is pressing cmd (or option) key to start dragging the image from annotate screen instead of pressing the `Drag Me` button. Is much nicer UX to just hold a modifier key and start dragging the image.
Luke Oslizlo
@nikitavoloboev It's already on our to-do list! :)
Nikita
@lukaszmtw Awesome to hear. I thought ability to reverse the arrow direction was to be released with the new version too. That is instead first click will be the arrow end and then drag away to size it. Rather than the current of clicking and then dragging to where the arrow should point. I would love to have the option for the first arrow as default (super used to it from Annotate)
Nikita
@lukaszmtw Also is it possible to add an image from Annotate screen to clipboard? I would really love that.
Luke Oslizlo
@nikitavoloboev We have all that. :) 1. You can adjust the arrow direction in Preferences: https://cln.sh/p0YX 2. You can copy the image right away by pressing โŒ˜ + C or clicking this button: https://cln.sh/rv99

My favorite app again here! When I first touched Cleanshot, I was impressed with how easy it was to use. You can take screenshots and shoot videos in one application. But the most important thing about Clanshot is their Quick Access Action. It's very convenient when you can use drag and drop for video or screenshots in messenger or task tracker. And now Cleanshot X has cloud functions to store pictures๐Ÿ˜. Best screenshot tool ever!
Joel Runyon
I think I bought cleanshot a few years back when it was just a menu bar utility (does that sound right?) Now that it seems to have an online account, etc - it seems to be much more competitive with products like Loom & CloudApp - is that accurate?

I've been lucky enough to beta test this product and it solved all the problems that I had with screenshotting tools. Long screenshots and gif maker are game changers. And the best part? I can share them easily via cloud!
Luke Oslizlo
@cheepo2109 thanks for taking part in the beta as well!
David Dias ๐ŸŒด
Impressive product @lukaszmtw, congrats! I'm interested in buying CleanShot but would love to see more FAQs. My main question would be if it's possible to use Dropbox instead of your Cloud solution. Thanks!
Luke Oslizlo
@thedaviddias1 assuming you use the desktop Dropbox app, you can set up CleanShot to save the files in your Dropbox folder.
David Dias ๐ŸŒด
@lukaszmtw I was too excited and bought 2 licences :D I just saw the option to save on any folder. That's awesome! I believe it may replace Kap...
David Dias ๐ŸŒด
@lukaszmtw last suggestion and maybe I missed the option, but would be nice to have a way to change the name of the file before saving it... Like http://www.kerlmax.com/products/... in same way :)
Luke Oslizlo
@thedaviddias1 you can already set up that in Preferences: https://cln.sh/mjFd :)
David Dias ๐ŸŒด
@lukaszmtw OMG! Ok, I'm sold. Your app is more than amazing! Be proud and thank you for the hard work ๐Ÿ‘!

I've been using Cleanshot for a while now and Cleanshot X makes it better in every single way. From beautiful new features like the scrolling capture - which is unlike any other similar feature I've seen - to improving the overall feel of the app (love the new video configuration options). Cleanshot X is probably the last screenshotting/recording tool I'll ever need. If you don't have it already you should absolutely get it now!
Luke Oslizlo
@_pretzelhands Thanks a lot for the review! I'm really stoked to see people enjoying using CleanShot as much as we do!
Brandon Hull
Awesome update. I jumped from Cloud App to Cleanshot sometime back and missed the cloud capability along with a couple minor niceties. This bridges the gap. Upgraded to X. Great job guys.

I posted this in a mac group I run, and got a bunch of feedback like: Native can do 90% of this This is like skitch? pass. So I wrote a quick breakdown of why this is (to me) better than the native flow, which I love, and use every day: 1) I use the cmd+shift 4 flow every day, then I hold control to get it into the clipboard I can't edit the snapshots quickly like that. If I don't hold control, I can edit the screenshot, but then I can't put it back into clipboard, nor can I drag it out, so have to save. This is context switching, and is bad. 2) Editing on native is super limited and annoying. There's no easy arrowing, no numbering, and most importantly, no blurring / pixelating of sensitive info. You can only use like rectangles and stuff, and they are by default just black. You color choice isn't saved between sessions. 3) Sharing is horrible, like what is this? Why can't I share to slack? We're in 2020, this is stupid. I can on ios, but can't here? 4) No gifs. Gifs are essential, and there's no gifs. I use Gifox, and other tools, and they all have their issues as well. 5) Being able to drag the actual screenshot is super useful, not all places can get a paste from clipboard, and more places accept a draggable asset. 6) Cloud built in? I use dropbox and it has a feature wherein you can save screenshots to there, and you get the link immediately. But this has the same for gifs, images and videos? (I think, haven't checked) And did I mention the pixelation? I really really need pixelation.

Instant purchase. Both cleanshot and pixelsnap have been two apps that live inside my menu bar providing that much needed extended function that feels native to mac os. They key feature that sold me is the rolling screen shot. Now you don't need to stitch anything together anymore and it's really something that will come handy every day. Although you need to create an account to use their cloud, they have opted to make this available as a one time purchase. No subscription needed unlike flexibits who went for the "milk your user base" route. great product and devs that I would recommend to my friends.

@manny_orduna Iโ€™m really glad you like our apps. Messages like this keep us going! โค๏ธ

This is awesome! I have two questions. 1. Are there text options when annotating (font size, color etc)? 2. If we get/pay for the cloud do we have the option to embed screen capture videos onto our site for example?
Titus Decali
I've had cleanshot for over a year and it really is a great piece of software. I use it at least 10 times every single day.
