Hei PH, Varun from callstats.io team here. I co-authored the WebRTC Statistics API (https://www.w3.org/TR/webrtc-stats/) and a number of networking RFCs. Smart Connectivity Test (SCT) is a new way evaluate your network conditions. This product API helps video and audio application to select the best infrastructure to route the call from your location, based on your device, operator, and current battery level. A couple of insights: callstats.io passively measures the quality of experience of the call, however the Smart Connectivity Tests run in the background and estimates how the quality of the call would be, when sufficient number of tests have been run in the background, it becomes more predictive and is able to accurately predict the call quality before it is made.
