Cabal helps founders and their teams get more out of their investors and advisors by making it easy to surface what they need—and even easier for investors to contribute.
Beautiful product! I’ve been using this to engage our investors and advisors and friends of rocketlane, and also to drive our outreach into their networks!
Considering investor/advisor updates are a huge source of leverage for the business, this looks wildly useful. Going to try it out.
I also like how founders can easily see past updates without hunting around in your inbox. I find monthly updates are a nice way to create accountability, so having this all in one place to review makes a ton of sense.
Excited to be hunting Cabal today. What Brian, Fahim and team are building is changing the game for founder < > investor relationships. I truly believe the future belongs to those who can assemble and activate their cap tables to be a league of super contributors. This is THE tool to help you do that. I was going to build it right into Cerebro (our operating system at 776) and then I learned they were building it and I realized I'd rather just invest because it'd be even more effective as a standalone business and one year later — it's obviously the right decision.
Thanks @alexisohanian! Excited to reveal what we’ve been building with Cabal 🌙
The dynamic between founders and the members of their cap table has so much potential, but the friction to contribute has held everyone back.
Investors want to help but don't know how and don't want to pester founders with the dreaded "let me know how I can be helpful" line.
Founders want help but are so busy it's hard to specify what they need and make contributing easy.
Cabal solves this for companies of all sizes, all geos and all industries. Every company has a community of supporters around them that want to help them win.
Cabal activates this community.
Thanks for all the support and for checking us out. We've got a lot to build so if you have questions/feedback/etc, hit me up!

*Investor/LP updates:*
We noticed that sending monthly updates was time-consuming for founders and not super engaging for investors. A few of the features we built to help:
- Templates - give yourself a starting point
- Mail merge - updates are sent individually (no more bcc)
- Groups - add your investors to a group, ie “Monthly Investor Update”
- Collaborative editing - tag your team to complete sections of the update and review before sending
- Draft-on-behalf - let your team help with the first draft
- Use as draft - use last month’s update as a starting point for next month
Asks lets you request targeted contributions from your investors and advisors. How it can help:
- Your sales team needs an intro to one of your prospects. You see in Cabal that an investor is connected to the Chief of Staff at the prospect. You can quickly send a request to the investor to be connected to the Chief of Staff and include a pre-drafted intro that they can use if it makes sense.
- You just announced big news (like landing on Product Hunt). You can request retweets or marketing amplification directly from Cabal.
- You need to hire an engineer. You can filter your investor’s connections by title and request an introduction to engineers in your extended network.
- You want to help your employees get mentorship. Employees can browse the investor and advisors in your Cabal by expertise. Then request an introduction. As the founder, you review & approve requests before sending.
After building Asks, we wanted to make it even easier for investors to help without waiting for founders to send them requests. We came up with Deal Boards as a way for investors and advisors to proactively help. How it works:
- Create a target list of prospect companies and add relevant context for where each company is at in your pipeline
- Include a welcome note with information about your ideal buyer persona. For us it’s Series A - C companies selling B2B.
- Set the default message template that will appear when an investor selects the email icon to write an intro
- Preview what the Deal Board will look like when viewed by your investors and advisors
- Copy the link and share it with your investors and advisors ✨
Modern Advisor Program:
One of the most important aspects of our product is that it creates a way to onboard and reward advisors for their contributions. To-date, there haven’t been tools that make it easy to bring advisors on to help with your business. So we built:
Default agreement templates customizable by name, shares, and vesting data. You can add your own agreements as well!
An advisor program that lets you set an equity budget and manage equity tiers based on expected contribution.
Manage multiple agreements in a single place and easily export to a Carta friendly CSV for your next board meeting.
We regularly use Cabal for investor updates and introduction asks. It’s intuitive and frictionless for everyone involved. A game changer in terms of getting the most from our cap table.
I'm impressed with what Cabal's built. If/when it supports integration with Airtable (or Zapier), would love to use it at Weekend Fund for founder and LP communications.
@rrhoover we use it for SPVs, confirming addresses, and tried it out for some investor updates, works great with Airtable ✨ not an integration or anything but easy to copy over the emails and track it all in Airtable (but the correct approach would just be to set up those LP groups in Cabal) anyway works super well particularly in emails that you'd want to get a response from people vs. being passively read
