Boxy is the best Inbox by Gmail client for Mac, with a sleek and polished interace, and many native features like Push Notifications, Reader Mode and Markdown Support.
@goeric An easy way to have more than one account open at the same time is to use multiple instances of the app, and just login to a different Gmail account for each one. Just open Terminal and type (open -n -a "Boxy") then enter. Once you have that, switch to the other account and you can just dock it and you will get notifications and badge counts for each.
Just bought it and DAMN, this is so much faster than using the Inbox website.
Is there a way I can put a max width on the email container? Maybe there can be a setting in the future to add a gutter on the right and left side so there's some padding between the right edge of the app and the sidebar?

Love this!
@linuz90 Hey Fabrizio, sorry about that. I realized my comment didn't retain its formatting. Here's a quick mockup on the margining I think could be useful as a setting: http://c.areus.co/1hvC4/4FtdpGHH+
Love it! One thing is that spell-check doesn't seem to work for me.
This is pretty critical for me but I imagine a fix for this is fairly straightforward.
Awesome app, thanks a lot! Can you share a bit of the roadmap ahead?
Also, like others mentioned, not a big fan of the compose button. I also think the messages could use a bit less dark border.
@robertvhoesel thanks for your thoughts Robert. On the top of our list is better multiple accounts handling. We want it to be faster and smoother. Also, we're working on a dedicated compose window, better settings and many little things that will make the app much friendlier. Also, there will be 2 or 3 major features that we're not disclosing yet, but we're really excited about.
This is pretty great! I'd echo other's suggestions here for smoother multi-account handling, but this is a great start. I've been using N1 lately but it's still in it's infancy and very buggy; this might just be my daily desktop client for now.
@jannis I was hesitant to buy, but I decided "what the heck, I'll just buy it". After an hour of use, I love it!
My only gripe is that the "Open in Gmail" button should probably be hijacked and open in a proper browser window rather inside the app itself. It gets alittle weird and it's hard to get back without right-click > Back, or closing the app and re-opening.
All in all, I love it!
Looks great. Couple of notes: When using j and k to navigate I'm hearing a bell noise each time, is that intentional? Also, are you guys focusing on performance? I know inbox was built with 60fps in mind, and first glance the native app seems to be slower than the web version. Would also be interested in hearing about plans for fine-tuned notification control. Still really excited to see this grow!
@pfista Hi Michael, we have a great roadmap and you won't be disappointed. We're fixing that bell noise bug, and also doing our best improve performance!
A year ago I wrote about how to put Inbox for Gmail in your dock. I'm really happy that those instructions are now largely obsolete with the advent of Boxy. I've been using it for over a week now and really love it β I feel about as good about Boxy as I used to about Mailplane!
I just bought Boxy after seeing it featured on PH and am instantly sold! Thanks for bring an awesome native experience to Google Inbox.
I do have a few minor issues/complaints. What is the best way to submit feedback/bug reports? I couldn't find anything in the Mac app.
What a beautiful app! I have a quick question. I've noticed that you have "common OS X keyboard shortcuts", but do you have VIM shortcuts or do you plan to add them? It's probably my most favorite feature from Gmail, Sparrow, and Mailbox. Thanks!
@kacyf Thanks Kacy! Those would be a nice addiction, you're right. I'll put it on our list and I'll discuss it with @frankdilo to see what we can do :)
@syshen thanks for the bug report Steven, we'll certainly fix it asap. In the meantime, try hitting Cmd+R when you find yourself in that kind of situation
I've been waiting for you my entire life! Long time Mailbox user super sad to see it shut down. Recently converted to Inbox, biggest complaint has been lack of native Mac app. Super excited to try this. Do you have any invite codes to check it out? Super excited to use and hopefully evangelize!
