Does this work for all gmail supported accounts or only the one which have been upgraded to inbox ?
Francesco Di Lorenzo
@goelv It will work with any account, provided that you first login in the mobile Inbox app from an iOS or Android device.
Eric Posen
I like this a lot. Any plans for unified inbox?
Fabrizio Rinaldi
@goeric we can't support it until Inbox itself does it, but we read in a Reddit AMA that it might be in the works, so let's hope it happens soon!
Foued Sassi
@goeric An easy way to have more than one account open at the same time is to use multiple instances of the app, and just login to a different Gmail account for each one. Just open Terminal and type (open -n -a "Boxy") then enter. Once you have that, switch to the other account and you can just dock it and you will get notifications and badge counts for each.
Eric Posen
Noticing a slight bit of typing lag when typing really fast. Can that be fixed?
Fabrizio Rinaldi
@goeric we'll look into it, thanks Eric

Just bought it and DAMN, this is so much faster than using the Inbox website. Is there a way I can put a max width on the email container? Maybe there can be a setting in the future to add a gutter on the right and left side so there's some padding between the right edge of the app and the sidebar? Current: Sidebar | email-list | Proposed: Sidebar | email-list | Love this!
Fabrizio Rinaldi
@areus thanks Aaron! Can you write in more detail what you're proposing here http://goo.gl/forms/5tzkLys0X9 That would really help!
Aaron Wade
@linuz90 Hey Fabrizio, sorry about that. I realized my comment didn't retain its formatting. Here's a quick mockup on the margining I think could be useful as a setting: http://c.areus.co/1hvC4/4FtdpGHH+
Matt Galligan
@areus @fabrizio rinaldi Definitely in agreement with this one! Max width on the list container would be nice.
Dean Perry
Looks and works great, nice work!
Fabrizio Rinaldi
@deanperry thanks Dean!
Nick Rempel
Love it! One thing is that spell-check doesn't seem to work for me. This is pretty critical for me but I imagine a fix for this is fairly straightforward.
Francesco Di Lorenzo
@nbrempel you can enable it this way 😎 (should be enabled by default though, we will fix this)
Robert van Hoesel
Awesome app, thanks a lot! Can you share a bit of the roadmap ahead? Also, like others mentioned, not a big fan of the compose button. I also think the messages could use a bit less dark border.
Fabrizio Rinaldi
@robertvhoesel thanks for your thoughts Robert. On the top of our list is better multiple accounts handling. We want it to be faster and smoother. Also, we're working on a dedicated compose window, better settings and many little things that will make the app much friendlier. Also, there will be 2 or 3 major features that we're not disclosing yet, but we're really excited about.
Evan Sims
This is pretty great! I'd echo other's suggestions here for smoother multi-account handling, but this is a great start. I've been using N1 lately but it's still in it's infancy and very buggy; this might just be my daily desktop client for now.
Fabrizio Rinaldi
@evansims thanks a lot Evan! We're already working at better/faster multi-account
Jannis
No trial version? 😞
Fabrizio Rinaldi
@jannis unfortunately we didn't make it for launch day, but we are working on a trial version to offer in the future. Hope that's ok!
Brandon Brown
@jannis I was hesitant to buy, but I decided "what the heck, I'll just buy it". After an hour of use, I love it! My only gripe is that the "Open in Gmail" button should probably be hijacked and open in a proper browser window rather inside the app itself. It gets alittle weird and it's hard to get back without right-click > Back, or closing the app and re-opening. All in all, I love it!
Fabrizio Rinaldi
@brandonb927 can you share details about this bug via the feedback form?
Ouriel Ohayon
more promo codes please?
Michael Pfister
Looks great. Couple of notes: When using j and k to navigate I'm hearing a bell noise each time, is that intentional? Also, are you guys focusing on performance? I know inbox was built with 60fps in mind, and first glance the native app seems to be slower than the web version. Would also be interested in hearing about plans for fine-tuned notification control. Still really excited to see this grow!
Fabrizio Rinaldi
@pfista Hi Michael, we have a great roadmap and you won't be disappointed. We're fixing that bell noise bug, and also doing our best improve performance!
Yiğit Konur
@linuz90 @pfista I'm also on the waiting list for faster app. It is slower than web version and this is what I need to work with it.
Chris Messina
A year ago I wrote about how to put Inbox for Gmail in your dock. I'm really happy that those instructions are now largely obsolete with the advent of Boxy. I've been using it for over a week now and really love it β€” I feel about as good about Boxy as I used to about Mailplane!
Mitchell McKenna
Could you add the ability to archive or delete from the notification?
Fabrizio Rinaldi
@mitchellmckenna that's not easy because of how Inbox bundles email together, but we're looking into that!
Hunter Gray
This looks fantastic guys. And just in time #ripMailbox
Fabrizio Rinaldi
@huntergray Thanks a lot!
Joe Masilotti
I just bought Boxy after seeing it featured on PH and am instantly sold! Thanks for bring an awesome native experience to Google Inbox. I do have a few minor issues/complaints. What is the best way to submit feedback/bug reports? I couldn't find anything in the Mac app.
Fabrizio Rinaldi
@joemasilotti thanks a lot Joe! You can click on Help in the menu bar, than Boxy Help, and use our feedback form
Kacy Fortner
What a beautiful app! I have a quick question. I've noticed that you have "common OS X keyboard shortcuts", but do you have VIM shortcuts or do you plan to add them? It's probably my most favorite feature from Gmail, Sparrow, and Mailbox. Thanks!
Fabrizio Rinaldi
@kacyf Thanks Kacy! Those would be a nice addiction, you're right. I'll put it on our list and I'll discuss it with @frankdilo to see what we can do :)
Jason Glaspey
@kacyf +1 for VIM shortcuts. It's actually a deal breaker for me. Without, I might as well be using Apple Mail. :(
Stephen Radford
Being using this for a few hours now. Really fits into my workflow well. Really great work @linuz90 and @frankdilo 🀘
Francesco Di Lorenzo
@steve228uk Thanks, it feels so good to be finally releasing Boxy into the world :) glad you like it
Steven Shen
When I open a calendar in a mail, the UI is overlapped with the web calendar UI, and I have no way to restart it
Fabrizio Rinaldi
@syshen thanks for the bug report Steven, we'll certainly fix it asap. In the meantime, try hitting Cmd+R when you find yourself in that kind of situation
Thanasis
Like the app a lot, from what i can see in the pictures coz there is not a trial version! πŸ˜’
Adam Lieb
I've been waiting for you my entire life! Long time Mailbox user super sad to see it shut down. Recently converted to Inbox, biggest complaint has been lack of native Mac app. Super excited to try this. Do you have any invite codes to check it out? Super excited to use and hopefully evangelize!
Fabrizio Rinaldi
@adamslieb That's fantastic, thanks Adam! We're probably going to give out more codes tomorrow.
Adam Lieb
@linuz90 @adamslieb Awesome, let me know here or on twitter! Super excited.
