Thanks for this @matttbrown! Currently deep in knowledge building around this topic. Maybe you talk about this in the e-book, but it seems like a Solo 401(k) would be one of the bigger levers for certain freelancers to pull to reduce their tax burden...but not seeing it mentioned. Was that deliberately left out, and if so why?
It keeps surprising me how such products promote themselves to a global audience without mentioning anywhere that they only operate in their country of origin.
The whole content only applies to USA, but "let's wait until Sherlock finds out". What do you gain wasting peoples' time when they are unable to use your product anyway?
@zvictor Hi Victor, thanks for your feedback. It's definitely not our intention to "trick" anyone, as no one benefits from that. The majority of our users are in the US and the product is geared towards them, but we certainly can make that more explicit and have already done so on this landing page. Cheers,

@zvictor @matttbrown yeah, you should that. Actually, lots of services should — most of the time when I wanted to use the service, I found out that I cannot because I’m a non-US resident.

In those last 5 years we’ve helped hundreds of thousands of freelancers manage their businesses. A large and recurring theme is confusion and frustration with self employed taxes. This is unfortunately one of the trickiest (and most annoying) parts of being self employed.
We put together a bunch of content for our paying users on the topic, and then decided to make it free and public for everyone. As the year comes to an end and you start reflecting on 2020 and planning for 2021, we hope this gives freelancers some help and confidence in managing their finances.
We’ve put together a couple resources to help you get ready for tax time:

@new_user_1810f109da Good feedback, we have made that more explicit on the site. The majority of our users are in the US, so that's who we started publishing this for. Unfortunately it's also complex enough in the US before supporting other countries, but that's definitely on our radar. What country or countries would you like to support?
