As a remote developer, I have always believed that daily standups must be a little flexible on time. I have felt that synchronizing for standups has always been difficult for developers working in different timezones. Therefore, I came up with the idea of running standups on Slack (asynchronously). This way, everybody gets to attend it on their own time and the rest of the team is always informed about their Todos via Slack. Also introduced a feature of time-tracking to make it easy for everybody in the team to see who is currently working at the moment, downloading timesheet reports help the managers as well to understand how many hours an employee has worked.
