I can see the meeting now. "Guys, our speakers are awesome and have been working well for decades. I don't know about you but we really need to spice things up. How can we decrease the usability, increase the odds of breakage, and also obstruct any associated objects for a period of time?" Another team member speaks up: "design it like the world's slowest moving butterfly?" The leader says "brilliant, here's a couple million dollars to go experiment with that concept more"
