@stvmcg Thanks for the unexpected Hunt!
Much in the way that Imgur evolved from a pure utility to a community of its own, we've invested a lot of energy into helping Vidme creators grow their audience and earn more money from their videos.
We still have lots to build, but one new feature that we're particularly proud of is tipping, which allows you to support a creator on a per-video basis. Tippers are featured underneath the videos they support.
@wwshaef@stvmcg Rad product - I went to share a video on reddit via imgur the other day and only then realised the limitations of their video->gif system.
Youtube is great, but you have to 'plan' your videos - sometimes I just wanna drag, drop, publish and link.
Out of curiosity what's the current size of the vid.me community roughly?
I've been using your site for awhile and it used to be flooded with NSFW content (good job on the clean up!) but I can see you've been making lots of strides towards focusing on building up a proper community.
