I understand that the old Asana was probably off-putting to new users. Most of our collaborators needed some heavy handed coaxing to get started using our project management tool, which isn't amazing. That said with the full blown transition into quirky fun I think they threw out the baby with the bathwater. Asana's sturdy ugliness definitely was a core feature of the product.
I personally love Asana and use it across multiple organizations and groups. I'd love to see deeper integrations with existing workflows (Office 365 or Google Apps, for instance) rather than trying to supplant email. While I agree email sucks...it's not going to die. Perhaps tracking emails in Asana ( like a CRM might), would take the pain of keeping everyone on the same page.
Loving the new web client design but the iOS app is still completely unusable. Why oh why is there no ascending / descending task list based on due date?! Why?!?!
I'm always nervous about these big design updates but this is one of the few in which everything is actually better. One of the teams I use this with is full of late-adopters and even they like it and use it. Really well made product.
Great interface refresh! I loved using asana as it really clicked with my workflow. Alas, it was not to be because I have hilariously spotty connection and mobile signal (I'm even GSM challenged at the moment).
* Any possibility for offline support? This feature alone would bring me back to the asana fold straightaway 😬
* Also, any chance of a Mac app? I didn't realise how much I love using a standalone app for task management until I tried competitors' (sorry 😅).
Been using Asana for over 5 years now. It is an awesome lightweight tool that can be used for a myriad of things (task management, meeting facilitation, bug tracking, feature planning etc...)
Love the visual refresh. Excited to explore it in the coming days and weeks.
@moskov We have always relied on Asana at IdeasWatch and RiteTag but have 2 requests:
1. user profile: a way to pin it open and make items click-to-open (e.g. email, skype, github pages)
2. the chrome extension: ability to choose project, assign someone, make people followers, etc. - it should be like creating a task in the Asana site.
@hackapreneur - would love to swap ideas on getting things done in general. G+ video call?
Amazing update. This is the type of product that **could** have gotten serious backlash considering so many people/organizations use it to manage EVERYTHING - but I'm seeing nothing but positive reactions. Well done #newAsana
Good to see them stepping up their game since they were pretty suck for a while like Remember The Milk before them. Hardly any innovation and spartan user interface and UX. I switched to MeisterTask a while back and very satisfied with that tool since it is more visual and a joy to use. I do see the need for a more complex tool like Asana for some organisations. Hope they fixed many of the UX flaws I had with it. It still seems to lack a Kanban view though – which I think is essential for tools like this. But regardless, congrats with the update team.
I love the functionality but I can't believe that iOS notifications don't incorporate sound and Asana doesn't have Desktop notifications as well. A Desktop app would be great.
This is the best tool I've found to organize all my marketing projects and keep track of the various stages of the process. I particularly like the tight integration with Google Docs and the ability to create a visual structure that links to longer form Google Docs.
I am a huge Asana advocate and use it across 5 different organizations. I love the new design on both mobile & web. A lot of great visual improvements, new logo, etc. Thank you for such an awesome product.
I love the new design! I have been using Asana for years and the redesign was much needed. What kind of user research and testing did you perform before launching the new design?
