Yesss! Action Figure AI is LIVE on Product Hunt! 🚀 So pumped right now.
Hey everyone, Sean here, the maker! Been burning the midnight oil on this one for a while now (solo dev life! 😅). My goal was simple: blend my love for action figures with the magic of AI, and make it easy for ANYONE to create something super personal and cool.
What I'm really excited for you to try (and tell me what you think!):
The reference style generation – upload an image, and BAM, the AI tries to match that vibe. Still blows my mind.
There's also an animation feature to add a bit of movement to your creations – it's a fun start! And we're excited because we'll be enhancing this down the line by integrating features from our upcoming Animate Action Figures product. Simplicity and ease of use were definitely key goals for us.
So, what's the FIRST action figure you're gonna make with this? Or what style should I try to add next?? 🤔 Would love to hear your craziest ideas!
Appreciate you checking it out! All feedback is gold. Let me know what you create! 👇
P.S. There's a free plan to get you started right away! 😉 Go go go!
try it out, it's surprisingly addictive 😉. actionfigureai.online
@seanx I added a photo of my pet now I’m dreaming of a whole action figure line!

@claudio_fanetti So glad your pet is inspiring such grand (and fun!) plans. Happy creating! 😄
@seanx It feels like the AI version of those Saturday morning cartoons
I tried animating mine, and it genuinely made me laugh out loud

@claudio_fanetti So glad you had fun animating your figure! 😂
Can users tweak the pose or accessories after the figure is generated or is everything automated based on the uploaded photo?
Animate Old Photos
@vasyl_yeremeiev Thanks for the great question! Absolutely, users have full creative control. You can completely customize your figure's pose, accessories, and every little detail using text prompts.
To get you started, we also have an 'Inspiration' library packed with diverse figure examples. You can use the prompts from these examples as templates and then modify them to create your unique design.
And exciting news for the future: we're working on a feature that will allow you to upload a reference image, and our system will automatically generate the initial prompts for your figure, making customization even easier! So, lots of flexibility now, and even more streamlined options coming soon. 😊
What a fantastic idea this totally brings back childhood memories in such a cool futuristic way. Are there any plans to let people order physical 3D prints of their action figures?
Animate Old Photos
@gerardo_zepeda_diaz And yes, you've hit on a fantastic idea! We're definitely considering the possibility of generating 3D models from the figures, which could then be used for physical 3D printing. We're even exploring potential collaborations with 3D printing services to make this a reality for our users down the line. It's something we're very excited about!
How does Action Figure AI deal with group photos can it pick out just one person from the image and generate a figure based on that?
Animate Old Photos
@daryl_rukeme Great question! Yes, when using a group photo, you can direct the AI to focus on a specific individual.
You can do this by:
Using descriptive text prompts (e.g., "the person on the left").
Cropping the photo to feature just that person before uploading.
We're also working on integrating a built-in cropping tool into Action Figure AI soon. For now, you could use an external tool, like the one in our other app: https://animateoldphotos.org/merge-images
Do the generated figures remain available in a user’s account or do they get deleted after a while?
Animate Old Photos
@yoana_angelica Currently, if you're not logged in, generated figures are not saved. If you are logged in, your figures are stored for 7 days before being automatically removed.
We've noted that permanent storage might be a useful feature. If we see enough interest, we'll certainly consider implementing it down the line!
What’s your privacy policy for the photos that users upload? Since the models are created from personal images how do you manage data retention and user consent?
Animate Old Photos
@tao_luo5 Currently, if you're not logged in, generated figures are not saved. If you are logged in, your figures are stored for 7 days before being automatically removed.
How do you make sure the likeness remains accurate across different facial features, ethnicities and lighting conditions?
Animate Old Photos
@gerardo_emanuel Good question. While our AI strives for accuracy, getting a perfect likeness across all facial features, ethnicities, and lighting conditions isn't always 100% guaranteed right now.
It might take a few tries or some adjustments to your prompts. The core of this is the AI's image recognition capabilities.
Outstanding. Can we turn pets into action figures too?
Animate Old Photos
@kanstansin_ivashchanka Regarding pets, yes, you can create action figures of them! You'll need to use custom text prompts to define your pet's appearance and pose. We're also planning to include pet-related case studies and prompts in our 'Inspiration' library in a future update to provide some great starting points.
Love this tool. Are there any options for downloading files (like .png or .glb) to use the figures in games or as digital collectibles?
Animate Old Photos
@ke_da_p Currently, we only support image downloads in .webp format. We appreciate the feedback on .png and .glb for games/collectibles!
I gave it a try, and it’s really slick and enjoyable. Is it designed to be mobile friendly or is it better suited for desktop use?
Animate Old Photos
@faizullo_suponyorov We've designed it with interaction adaptations for both mobile and desktop. That said, you'll likely find the desktop experience a bit more user-friendly at this stage.
This concept looks like a blast but does the AI allow you to choose different themes or genres like sci-fi, fantasy or superheroes for the figures?
Animate Old Photos
@youngju_yu Thanks! Yes, that's possible via custom prompts. The main thing is to ensure any uploaded images are copyright-compliant.
I really love the concept and the user interface. Great job.
Animate Old Photos
@gold_chowdhury Thanks so much! So glad you like it.
What a fun way to personalize avatars! 👀
