🚀 Just launched: AnyDate API — Universal Date & Time Parsing | Parse Natural Language Dates
... Tired of wrestling with messy date formats? I built AnyDate API so you can feed it any date string whether it s ISO8601, RFC3339, "next Monday", "ma ana", "9/8/2025", or even a date+time+timezone combo and it will return a clean, standardized output. Parses dates in multiple languages Understands natural language (English, Spanish, etc.) Handles different formats (9/8/2025, 9.8.2025, etc.) Converts timezones automatically Lets you choose your output format (ISO, RFC, Unix, custom) Built with Python, fast & reliable Whether ... ... know what you think! https://anydateapi.up.railway.app/ Comment from jiyo root(@jiyo_root): AnyDate API lets you parse natural language dates and times from any format, anywhere. A universal solution for turning messy

Hiring Bias: Would you rather be judged by a biased human or a biased algorithm?
... themselves replete with historical biases. They increase the scale of discrimination at light speed, becoming so-called black boxes that end up rejecting qualified candidates for reasons that humans cannot even fathom. We are truly deciding to exchange messy, subjective human prejudice for cold, ruthlessly efficient algorithmic prejudice. Is that really an upgrade? I am genuinely interested in where this community stands: Founders/Hiring Managers: Which do you trust more to build your team? The biased human or the biased machine ... ... those questions where neither option feels good but the way I think about it is: which bias is easier to measure and improve? As someone who s built product teams in fast-scaling startups, I ve seen how messy

Offensive security consultant building DefenderIQ
... last years helping companies across the globe identify critical vulnerabilities and understand how real attackers think. I share those experiences at xbz0n.sh through technical write-ups and research. Lately, I ve been building DefenderIQ - a platform that turns messy, raw threat data into AI-narrated security stories. It s designed to help online businesses make sense of domain threats, dark-web exposure, phishing kits, and more - without drowning in alerts or dashboards. This is my first real go at turning ...

Anyone else running into same problem deploying long-running AI agents?
... Most cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.) are built for stateless apps or short-lived functions. But for long-running, stateful agents, the kind that need to persist data, auto-recover from crashes, and expose custom endpoints it gets surprisingly messy. I ve spent so much time setting up VMs, Docker configs, and recovery logic than actually writing agent behavior logic. Has anyone else faced this? Curious how others are handling deployment for autonomous agents that aren t just scripts ... ... caching for jobs that need it, and Django for custom API endpoints. We have separate jobs scheduled to scan recent jobs for crashes and re-run those jobs or otherwise handle the crashes accordingly. And yeah, it definitely gets messy

How do you separate staging vs production in your early builds?
... building SmartDial for outbound sales teams and shipping fast. Right now using Firebase, and it s getting tricky balancing speed with stability. Curious how do you manage staging vs prod environments when you re still validating and iterating weekly? Do you set both up properly from day one, or fake it until things stabilize? Comment from Joel Andriyas - AI First Developer(@new_user___1542025a3013bd22f1e340b): Just wondering, why would you fake anything? Comment from Abdellah Rolam(@rolambuilds): @new_user___1542025a3013bd22f1e340b ... ... Abdellah Rolam(@rolambuilds): @brandonshtein  Appreciate you sharing that super helpful. We just set up proper staging and separated the environments. Up until now, we were faking it with Firebase, feature flags, and test accounts, but it started getting messy

I Built a Free Tool to Help Vibe coders and SaaS to dev their multilingual website faster
... SaaS, you've probably hit this wall: You're splitting content into reusable components. You're updating translations manually every time something changes. And you're juggling multiple tools and locales just to keep everything in sync. It s messy. It s slow. And it doesn t scale. The Fix: Intlayer Autofill automates the boring parts of translation management., so you can focus on building features, not files. Write your content once in your base language Autofill the rest Intlayer ...

Hey PH! I'm building NoteTube to fix messy YouTube learning
... Azhar, a self-taught developer currently building NoteTube a tool that turns YouTube into a structured learning platform. So like many of you, I ve spent countless hours learning from YouTube, but always felt the experience was messy and unstructured scattered tabs, no progress tracking, no way to retain what I learned. That frustration inspired me to create NoteTube. It's still early days, but the goal is simple: Make YouTube as powerful for learning as it is for entertainment ...

How I’m Building a Zero-Dollar Affiliate Engine from Scratch
... until they have traction or a budget. I used to think that too. But I ve been building a lightweight affiliate engine without any paid tools, using just Payhip, MailerLite, Zapier (on the free tier), and Tally. It s messy but surprisingly effective. Here s what I ve set up: A recruiter application form with Tally Free affiliate program setup via Payhip A system that tracks which recruiter referred which affiliate using hidden fields and automation All onboarding flows ...

Pocket is shutting down. Best read-it-later alternatives?
... first app I wrote about. Weird to see it going away now. I can definitely see it being a tough business to thrive in though. Comment from Jake Crump(@jakecrump): @ellenli  That seems to be the main alternative I see people recommend. Is there a particular standout feature you enjoy? Comment from DG(@dg_): Oh wow. The end of an era. I briefly competed against Pocket over a decade ago. I was even in touch with Mozilla when they ... ... pretty sad to read that Pocket was shutting down too, but I have to admit I was not using it for a while. Instead... well, I just leave Chrome windows opened on my smartphone, during weeks or more sometimes. Messy

How do you make your product instantly feel like it's for them?
... your copy. Lead with real-life use cases not vague benefits, but actual before-and-after moments. Get close cold DMs, early calls, even rough demos. Hand-to-hand discovery > mass reach. This early-stage work is messy, but worth it. When someone lands on your page and says, Wait this is exactly what I needed that s gold. How are you approaching positioning? What s helped you create that this is for me moment? Comment from Nika(@busmark ... ... write to people, they do not feel "addressed". The level of obligation and commitment increases when you touch their person directly. :-) Comment from Mahesh V R(@mahesh_revenueholic): Ask what they hate about your competitors

The hidden risks of Vibe coding/AI-assisted coding no one talks about
... enterprise settings, it can lead to unacceptable vulnerabilities and risks. Fourth , unchecked AI use in coding leads to major technical debt . Relying on AI-generated code without fully understanding it makes debugging harder. Over time, this creates a messy, unmanageable codebase that struggles to scale and perform well. AI will not replace strong engineering fundamentals, but it will make good engineers more productive while amplifying the mistakes of bad ones. If you re a software engineer, your ability to debug ... ... will remain cautious, particularly around security and long-term maintainability. Feel free to share your thoughts! Comment from Karan Mandal(@deleted-7658472): Use AI to build quick projects, but I know relying on it too much can make things messy
