"Why Cats in Branding? Thoughts on Cat Logos?"

I’ve noticed cats popping up in branding quite a bit—Product Hunt’s logo, Golden Kitty, and Rednote’s “cat tax” are just a few examples. What do you think cats symbolize in marketing? Are there specific traits they’re meant to represent?
Also, would anyone suggest a simple, short cat logo that could work well for a brand?

The Kitty mascot appeared for the first time in September 2017 (designed by a community member Jesse Thomas). – I think that Ryan Hoover (CEO) likes cats :D

I think they represent independance and mystery.
I think cats are just a fun, relatable mascot that a lot of people connect with. They have a certain quirky internet meme appeal. Branding with a cat mascot adds some lighthearted personality and makes the product seem more friendly and approachable, which is great for community-driven sites like Product Hunt. The cuteness factor doesn't hurt either! 🐱
