Is the value of standalone software being overlooked?

Dataclay Templater for Adobe After Effects turned 10 years old in 2024, and the benefits of being a locally installed software are still a major selling point compared to our cloud competitors. Security and price are both strong competitive elements for products like ours. But it seems like today's developers are so focused on cloud-based solutions that a ton of opportunities for local and hybrid apps are being missed. Not to mention the focus away from desktop to mobile apps. Is it just me, or will the pendulum ever swing back when specific user needs justify it?
