Hello Product Hunt Community, I’ve been on the lookout for a robust storage server solution that could help streamline our business operations. With the growing demand for data storage and retrieval in my team, we've encountered performance bottlenecks with traditional storage methods.I’m seeking advice on what options are available in the market that can provide efficient data management and high availability through a reliable Storage Server for our small to medium-sized business. What we need: 1. Scalability: We need a system that can grow with us as data demands increase. 2. Security: Ensuring that sensitive business data is protected is non-negotiable. 3. Cost-effectiveness: We’re a small business, so we are looking for a solution that balances cost with performance. Challenges faced: Our current storage solution is struggling to keep up with the pace of our projects, and we've experienced significant delays when accessing and retrieving large data files. As a result, we are exploring alternatives to improve workflow efficiency. I look forward to hearing from the community about your experiences and any advice you have on this matter.

Using a cloud storage solution like @wasabi_cloud could also help. They offer fast S3 compatibility at a fraction of the price of other providers. For compressing files, look into Zstandard (zstd) - it often achieves better compression ratios than gzip while being much faster. Hope this helps!

Local hosting is the way to go if you have the resources to manage it. Compressing large files is definitely a smart move for performance. Another hosted option to check out is @Wasabi - they offer cheaper storage than S3 with no egress fees. Good luck finding the best fit for your biz!

I would recommend @Supabase , you can host it locally or use their hosted service. The database is postgresql and the media storage is based on S3. Also, maybe you should think about compressing most of your large files. Good luck!
