Launching soon!
I am launching soon however, first time on PH. That being said I have been in this game a LONG time. My #1 advise is DO not get discouraged. Not all product are winners. Secondly, stay organized. Remember your playing every role in the company.
and just for the sake of it here is why my AI says
Launching on Product Hunt can be a significant boost for new founders looking to gain visibility, attract early adopters, and secure valuable feedback. Here's how to proceed with a Product Hunt launch based on current insights and strategies:
Preparation Phase:
Understand the Platform: Before you launch, familiarize yourself with how Product Hunt operates. Spend time on the site, understand the community's dynamics, and engage with other products. This helps in understanding what resonates with the Product Hunt audience.
Build Your Profile: Start participating in the Product Hunt community months in advance. Comment, upvote, and share products to build your reputation. This not only increases your visibility but also helps in understanding how to tailor your launch for success.
Create a Coming Soon Page: Announce your upcoming launch by creating a "Coming Soon" page on Product Hunt. This can generate buzz and collect emails for further engagement. Ensure your product is ready for at least basic functionality testing to avoid negative feedback.
Network Building: Connect with influencers or 'hunters' on Product Hunt who can help promote your product. Networking with other founders, early adopters, and influencers can lead to more upvotes and visibility on launch day.
Launch Day Strategy:
Timing: Schedule your product to go live around midnight Pacific Time to maximize visibility throughout the day. Understand that Product Hunt's "day" is from 12 am to 11:59 pm PT.
Mobilize Your Network: On launch day, notify your contacts and community about your product's debut. Ask them to visit, upvote, and share your product without directly soliciting upvotes, which is against Product Hunt's rules. Use social media, emails, and direct messages effectively.
Engage Actively: Stay active on the Product Hunt page throughout the day. Respond to comments, engage with users, and keep the conversation going. This interaction can significantly influence your product's visibility and ranking.
Media and Content: Have a good set of visuals (screenshots, videos), a compelling product description, and a well-thought-out first comment on your post to set the tone. Make sure your product page is engaging and informative.
Post-Launch:
Follow-Up: After the launch, continue engaging with users who have shown interest. Send thank-you messages to supporters, gather feedback, and use this to refine your product.
Leverage Success: If your launch is successful, leverage this by promoting your position in Product Hunt's daily newsletter or top products list on your website or through social media.
Analyze and Adapt: Review the feedback and data from your launch. Understand what worked, what didn't, and how you can improve future product launches or iterations based on user interactions and comments.
Tips for New Founders:
Focus on Quality: Even if you have fewer features, ensure what you do offer works well and provides value. Speed and performance can sometimes outweigh a feature-heavy but slow product.
Set Realistic Goals: Define what success looks like for your launch. Whether it's a number of sign-ups, feedback quality, or simply brand visibility, having clear goals will help measure success.
Learn from Others: Study successful launches. There are many guides and case studies available online where other founders share their experiences. Adapt these learnings to fit your product's unique needs.
Launching on Product Hunt is not just about gaining immediate traction but also about building a foundation for future growth through community engagement and feedback. Remember, each launch is a learning opportunity, so approach it with an open mind and readiness to iterate based on what you learn.
