Best bet - go for a medium sized, dynamic company that has actual clients, revenue, responsibilities, deadlines, structure, and a track record of delivering.
you will learn a heck of a lot about actual business, have the flexibility to switch between roles and fill different gaps, and the ability to move up quickly as the value you deliver will be noticed (unlike in a big corp)

rest if you can - If you have to get s*it done - then try changing scenery. It helps me if I go to a place where there are people around - put my headphones in, and just go hard. Probably favourite is a pub environment - a few hours of very focused work, followed by a XL glass of wine - and slowly wind down work
How to overcome that one lazy day????

On the tech side:
1) Don’t under engineer your product – starting a project without a good technical foundation will eventually lead to the demise of your product and require a complete re-write (e.g. can’t scale, can’t translate, unstable, insecure, etc.)
2) Don’t over engineer your product either ;) – listening purely to academics who come up with the “ideal” architectures but who never had...
What are some mistakes that one should avoid so as to not kill their products?
