why do I need an account to use a terminal app? just let me try before I give you my info. EDIT: > One is that we think there are features that require login in order to create a better user experience. The other is to improve our product during beta. none of those 2 reasons need to force you to have an account, you can leave it open and let people share feedback via email or in a form somewhere else? I see your thinking, but from a user perspective it seems just a marketing tool. "thanks for trying this product, now we got your details"
Why do you have to sign in to use a terminal app? Really wanted to try this, but I think I'll pass. Reply: (seems it's not supported to reply to replies, so adding it here) I'm specifically referring to trying the app out. Long before I want to share preferences or do anything involving other people, my first need as a user is to try this out without sharing my identity or installing spyware. Earn people's trust first, THEN most will happily share data or money or both if they have a real need that the product solves.
Awesome! I saw this on my friend's Mac, please release it for Windows too! 😢
I started using Warp back when it was in Beta and it has been my terminal of choice ever since. Warp was the first to bring Ai to the command line and it has saved me so much time (and taught me a few things along the way!) I'm a designer by trade -- so customization options are important to me -- the interface is totally customizable - making Warp look as good as it functions. If you haven't tried it -- you should! 🔥
I've some questions/comments. First of all, congrats. This looks amazing. Wish you the best. I use EMACS. What do you think of this? Would you recommend Warp to me? Should I Forget about Emacs? Complement them? ... And I see the term uses vi shortcuts. Is this configurable to use Emacs shortcuts? Cheers! Really excited for this. Looking forward for the missing OS versions.
I love warp however in April I already over my 200M token limits :D :D :D So yes, I use Warp.dev massively
The best terminal I've every used. Helped me a lot with the AI integration too.
Coming from iTerm and the default terminal, Warp has been a massive upgrade. The speed, built-in collaboration features, and modern UI make it feel like the terminal was finally brought into the 2020s. Highly recommend it for any developer looking to level up their workflow.
It is still early days for me, but so far, Warp has definitely improved my productivity on the terminal. The terminal is such a critical part of my toolbox that whoever makes something that is meant to improve my experience needs to nail it, and so far, Warp has nailed it. Good job folks!
