Congrats on your launch! 🥂 I wonder what you think about getting legal advice from AI could be a problem in terms of serious consequences. You can lose your rights easily by any missing or wrong information. Some countries require insurance for lawyers. Can you provide liability insurance for the advice? I am asking this because I really want that get legal advice more accessible to everyone. 🙏

@iozguradem thanks! Yeah there are a lot of regulations on providing legal advice. In many cases, you require a practicing certificate and professional indemnity insurance. Our goal is not to provide legal advice but to connect users with law so they can do their own research. You should always seek legal advice before acting on any of the information provided.

@jordanparker6 @iozguradem I work in the legal field and know of an interesting related development. At least one federal judge now requires all attorneys filing pleadings/papers in his court to provide a signed/sworn affidavit along with each document filed. This affidavit contains standard language attesting (on behalf of the attorney) that AI programs were not utilized to draft the document. This could be a trend quick to spread and likely will be implemented in some form in courthouses around the country before long. Then again, it's never been required to attest that a document filed is not a fill-in-the-blank minor variation of an otherwise form source document. This sort of development seen in helpmefindlaw is evidence of the immediate need to address the archaic structures underlying the legal system. Amazing stuff!

@iozguradem @joseph_ryan00 Thanks for your insights! I did remember seeing a case on this pop up on LinkedIn. A lawyers submission drafted by ChatGPT was found to make up a bunch of cases that didn't exist... Not good. RAG techniques deployed in helpmefindlaw help mitigate these 'hallucinations' and I am sure the field is going to develop more approaches over time. There must be a middle ground. AI assisted drafting and information processing is definitely the future. However, you must always check your sources and the accuracy of the information provided. Failure to do so could amount to some degree of professional misconduct. This is why source traceability is a core part of our offering.
