👋 Hey everyone, I’m Matt from Dokkio Marketing. We’re excited to launch Dokkio Sidebar on Product Hunt. Let me share some of the “back story”: 👣 How we got here: Our core team has been delivering tools to manage & organize files and documents for over a decade. We’ve seen a proliferation of places to store that content (Dropbox, Drive, Box, OneDrive, etc.), to author it (Google Docs, Office 365, Notion, etc.) and to share it (email, Slack, MS-Teams, etc.). Users routinely open dozens of tabs to switch and integrate across these tools. That motivated us to build Sidebar, with three top-line goals: Offer a Unified View - easy search & access “everywhere” that files live Add Intelligence - auto-tag to describe and organize the content Integrate - do this within existing web browsing and web app workflows 💪 Use Cases: When you’re browsing or using web apps, Sidebar finds the right content and knowledge from your files, and makes it instantly available to boost your productivity and effectiveness. Our beta users actively used Sidebar for: MultiSearch - across cloud accounts, clipped pages, shared or local laptop files Email - find a relevant proposal or spec, then embed a link to it in within a message Author - find a relevant budget or meeting notes, and copy or link to contents Collaboration - easily incorporate documents into comments or revisions Screening - instantly understand “what this page is about” and its relevance Research - clip,bookmark and auto-tag a page to add it to the knowledge base 🤔 How It Works: We hope you’ll install Sidebar, and check out its tabbed UI:: ✅ The About tab shows how each web page you view relates to your work (as reflected in your Dokkio tags). One click clips & auto-tags the page, or a partial-page snapshot, and it’s easy to add new tags. ✅ The Search tab lets you search the content of all your files without opening a new tab or window. If you search in a web app or do a Google web search, Dokkio automatically does a parallel MultiSearch, and shows you the results in this tab. ✅ The Recent tab shows files that have recently changed, in real time. Monitor as files are shared with you or revised by colleagues, and hover to see a preview - all without leaving your current web page. ✅ The Tags tab allows you to easily see the tags that Dokkio is using to organize your files. Easily create new tags and new ways to organize - for example, "by Project" or "by Department". ✅ The Sources tab shows the content that's currently connected to Dokkio (cloud accounts, file storage and communication tools, and local laptop folders), and lets you easily connect more! 🎁 PH DEAL (Free Premium Dokkio account for 6 months!) @katerina_kurshina Hi Kate! Dokkio Sidebar is free, and we plan to launch out our paid model for our core Dokkio product in the coming weeks. We certainly will have tiered pricing in our plans to accommodate a team of more than 10, such as yours! :)

Congratulations on the launch! The product looks super interesting, especially the "MultiSearch" feature. I'm curious to see how it will perform in real-world scenarios.

Dokkio has freed up so much time for me! Finding and managing files across multiple platforms for a non-profit org involved in multiple programs was a huge struggle. Then I found Dokkio. I’ve been relying on it for almost 2 years now, and can’t live without it. If you need to find it, file it, track it or share it, you just need Dokkio.

I've been using Dokkio for quite a long time (beta user) and I've been pleasantly surprised by this tool. The team behind it is responsive to users' voice and very knowledgeable. I think Dokkio is very well positioned to become a necessary tool in this cloud ecosystem, and I'm looking forward to its development.

I am an Associate Owner of a Realtor Brokerage in Sugar Land, Texas. I collect new build floor plans for future use in my business. This large stack of builder folders had no utility because in practice, I had no way to search the huge growing pile. I searched for a database that would allow my to place files in to a database that allowed me to tag each floow plan by builder and subdivision. Complete end to end search finally! I love that we have Dokkio now, great tool that I will use into the future.
