Learning a new language? Don’t let words slip away. Wordwise lets you translate, save, and practice vocabulary with flashcards. Add tags, emojis, and notes to make them stick, and track your progress through statistics.
As someone learning languages, I constantly struggled to keep track of new words I came across, whether from books, classes, or even language apps. I’d jot them down in random notebooks I’d lose or find myself translating the same words over and over again.
Most apps use predefined word lists or exercises. I wanted something more personal, where I could build my own vocab lists and organize them my way. That’s why I built Wordwise.
Instead of just translating, Wordwise lets you save words, organize them with emojis, tags, and notes to add context, and practice them through flashcards to make them stick. To stay motivated, you can track your learning progress with stats and achievements.
Best part? It works offline and it’s completely free.
Whether you're taking language lessons, watching shows, or reading in a new language, Wordwise becomes your personal word journal.
It’s now available on Google Play, so if this sounds useful, I’d love for you to give it a try and tell me what you think!
@andrcodes This is a fantastic concept! As someone who also knows the struggle of trying to track new words while learning a language (lost notebooks, translating the same word again!), your personal story behind building Wordwise really resonates.
Your description of Wordwise as a 'personal word journal' really clicked with me. As a motion designer, I immediately envision how powerful a product video could be in showing that personal journey.
Imagine visually demonstrating the flow: encountering a new word, quickly saving it in the app, adding context with emojis, tags, and notes, organizing it, and then seamlessly transitioning to practicing it with flashcards.
Bringing these interactions and features to life through smooth, engaging motion graphics would be a perfect way to communicate the ease and effectiveness of Wordwise to potential users seeing it on Google Play or elsewhere.
I'd love to discuss how I could help create a captivating launch video that visually walks users through the unique value of Wordwise as their personal vocabulary companion.
@olgacherepanova thanks! that's one of the things I love most, it let's you organise the words as you want. It's currently not possible to add images, but I'll note it for future updates :)
NICE. A powerful, yet simple app that's actually needed for learning and remembering what you learn. I installed it, will use it for Japanese and note down some words in english while reading books.
Would love it to notify me randomly on flashcards, so I can take a couple of minutes and remember the words I wrote down. Good luck with the launch guys!
@aeromaniax thank you so much! I really hope it helps you and keep me updated on how it goes. That's exactly why I created the app :)
The app actually sends you a notification every day in case you didn't practice, so that should help you as well.
