Hey, Product Hunt community! 👋 I couldn't wait to share Wallafan with you today. Our startup journey began when we realized that content creators have very limited control over their business: ● 88% of creators can't directly invoice their audience, ● 70% of creators know followers only by their username, ● 80% of creators lack direct audience contact information, ● 90% of creators don't own their audience's traffic data, ● Result: 182 million creators aren't running sustainable businesses, potentially missing significant revenue opportunities. (*) So, we set out to eliminate high fees and limited data ownership on traditional platforms. Wallafan empowers you to run direct sales, own your traffic data, and maintain full control over your business, turning your passion into a sustainable career. Call us a market differentiator. 🖐 Who is this for: Independent Content Creators, Freelancers and Gig Workers, Influencers and Social Media Personalities, Podcasters and Video Producers, Digital Artists and Photographers, Educators and Course Creators, Membership-Based Businesses, Niche Community Leaders. If you create content and need to monetize it, Wallafan is for you. 👍 What makes us different: Wallafan is a true Software as a Service for content creators. You are our client, not your clients. We make it easy for you to run your business as you see fit, and we never interefere with it. You own it. You earn it. You keep it. No commission. No restrictions. Port them cross-platforms and upsell to them at your convenience. * Own your traffic: just connect your own Google Analytics, improve your SEO, create insights, do A/B testing, say goodbye to data dependency. * Invoice: no more fraudolent chargeback requests that cost you thousands at the end of the year. * Turn-key solution: marketing and productivity tools, automation, monetization-driven features, AI personal assistant, and more. * Security in mind: all your sensible business data are stored in, and accessible from your third-party apps dashboards (Stripe, Paypal, Google Analytics). * Plus: full branding, agency ready, marketing and productivity tasks automation, Twitch and Youtube live streaming alerts, any third party mailing list integration, and much more. 👈 What's coming: * Live streaming * Live consultation gigs on demand * Own domain with CNAME * Open source plugins marketplace * Webhooks API * Posts curation and collections 🤙 We Want Your Feedback: We’re constantly improving Wallafan and want to hear from you! @fabiosalvadori love this idea - I think there is an increasing issue with authenticity of user bases and weird transactions. I also really like the idea that creators own their data and can have control over it - I wonder if a simplified reporting dashboard is in the pipeline. Analytics is great but can be faffy to figure out for non tech creators!
Fabio Salvadori
@sonia_ponzo thank you! Yes we already have an in-house reporting dashboard with basic traffic stats, and clients' data, available also on the free plan. 💪

@julia_zakharova2 Thank you Julia!!

Congrats on the launch @fabiosalvadori! The piece about not being on 3rd party software is super compelling but I'm unclear who you're trying to compete with. Perhaps it would make sense for those who are already in that world and would consider the switch to Wallafan but for new-ish creators, a big Q would be, who are the big players you are competing with in your space? The likes of Patreon, Circle, Mighty Networks or more like Kajabi, Podia or Teachable? Or all of them? Also, does "sponsoring" others mean you can track and manage affiliate marketing payments and payouts?
Fabio Salvadori
@ph_leeanntrang Great question, Leeann, thanks! Wallafan is designed to offer a holistic approach to content monetization with more flexibility and control than other platforms, so in some ways yes, we intersect with all of the platforms you mentioned, but we take it further in terms of empowering creators. Who we're competing with: Wallafan competes with platforms like Patreon and Kajabi when it comes to direct sales and monetization but stands out because creators own their traffic data, control all branding aspects, and don't have to deal with platform restrictions. We're all about enabling creators to run their business like true entrepreneurs without middlemen taking commission cuts or controlling the flow of revenue. But we also intesect with platforms like Fiverr and Upwork; creators can sell gigs on Wallafan and of course they do this directly to their clients. This means upsell, among others. Knowing your client directly allows you to contact them, why not, to introduce your Fiverr or Upwork spaces too. Because, yes: data ownership naturally breaks platforms barriers. I'd like to add that per our roadmap we're gonna implement an open-source plugins marketplace which will promote a circular economy, where developers (who are also creators) can build, share, and monetize their own plugins, creating a vibrant, self-sustaining ecosystem. The second exciting thing we're working at as I write is a gig-on-demand feature which allows instant consultation paid meetings via Google Meet (for start). Imagine training classes, language conversations, fixing that Windows blue screen etc. In a way, we're a versatile platform that gives creators full control over their business, and we're ideal for creators who are tired of being locked into someone else's ecosystem. But we're not a replacement for those platforms: diversification is always great, and we just make it more simple, with ownership and portability of data. Sponsorship and affiliate marketing: By "sponsoring" others, we allow creators to collaborate and monetize their traffic in new ways. You can run sponsorships or collaborations with other creators and track engagement, for free (collaboration) or for a fee; in simple words you can feature another creator on your profile for a period of time and monetize (or collaborate), or if you are on the other side you can take advantage of other popular creators in your sector to gain traction for your profile—so it functions a bit like affiliate marketing, but is specifically built for creator-to-creator partnerships and opportunities. Own affiliate program where "you can track and manage affiliate marketing payments and payouts" is also coming (Q1 2025) as stated on our official roadmap. I hope you had the time to read it all...this is a very long answer...🙏😁

@fabiosalvadori Thank you so much for the very in-depth answer. I hadn't even thought of Fiverr or Upwork but that comparison really helps me understand the value of cutting out the third party (I know some of those platforms charge really high commission fees). Also, thanks for mentioning your roadmap. I'll definitely check it out. Sounds like your team has big plans ahead - I'm excited to follow along! I'm particularly interested in the upcoming "Own domain with CNAME" as that would allow a creator to not rely on the Wallafan platform as a discovery tool, but sounds like creators would just build their whole business on Wallafan instead of needing to learn how to setup and manage a website + e-commerce + blog/updates as you could do it all there in one place. Very cool - good luck!
Fabio Salvadori
@ph_leeanntrang No, I thank you! And I'd like to give you a guided live tour of the platform at your convenience. There's an option to request one on the homepage hero; if you don't see a suitable time just from me a message. My name if Fabio and the @ you already know it 😁
Luana
this is cool! is it only available in certain markets? good luck with the launch!
Fabio Salvadori
@luanat Thanks Luana. If you mean geographically, yes. Obviously you're somewhat bound to the countries supported by Stripe (195 countries) and PayPal (200 countries).
