Quenti is the modern learning platform designed to let you study anything. Study with flashcards, games, and more, all without interruptions. Open source and free forever for students.
Hey Product Hunt! It's Ethan from Quenti, and we're thrilled to finally be launching our open-source studying platform.
Quizlet used to be a lifesaver for me and countless other students years ago—being able to create a study set with up to hundreds of vocabulary terms and guarantee that it would be memorized before a test felt magical. As most of you are probably aware, this is no longer possible for free on Quizlet.
A bit more than a year ago, Quizlet significantly changed. Ads turned into constant bombardments, studying was locked to one free practice test, and now you can only do Learn for up to two rounds for free? We started work on Quenti pretty soon after.
We believe that studying infrastructure should be available and extensible for everyone. That's why Quenti is open source—no ads, no paywalls, no gimmicks, no nothing. With your help, we want to make the ultimate learning platform even better. We're thinking more study modes, live games and activities, and integrations with other tools and platforms. Let us know what you'd like to see!
We hope you'll enjoy using Quenti as much as we enjoyed building it. We're here to ensure that anyone can start—and finish—studying anything.
@ethanlerner This is so great to see! I first started my programming journey because I wanted to make a better Anki (horrid UX) or Quizlet (too restricted).
In this project, I really hope you guys consider data portability/interoperability because as users accumulate more and more cards on the platform, they get increasingly worried about being locked in to the platform. Make sure you can import/export easily.
I'm working on a project https://github.com/eweser/eweser-db that lets you share data across apps more easily. Check it out and let me know if you are interested in an integration. It could make your app SO much more powerful if it could effortlessly connect to other learning apps, for example a browser extension that makes flashcards from website content or pdfs (like wiztopia).
Congratulations on the launch and a big thank you for investing your time and efforts into an open source product!
Quenti looks really nice, I hope many will put it to good use
Love the interface, onboarding and the overall experience! Haven't used it to study yet but looks like an amazing concept. Keep going you guys!
One quick Q, any timeline for upcoming feature releases e.g mobile app, AI, etc?
Thanks!
@daniyal7 Glad you liked it so far! Mobile app is definitely on the list, and we want to integrate more useful AI features as soon as possible too. Hard to estimate a timeline, especially since AI will cost us a lot of money, but we'd love to support iOS and Android in ~6-8 months or so—assuming the web app is in-demand enough.
