Excited to share this with the community! Future Product Labs is my contribution to share all the things that I've learned over the years as the Head of Product at a fast-paced, growing startup. To improve our product, product team and general approach to development I've done a lot of research on the best practices around the world, Implemented them in our org, kept what worked - discarded what didn't and iterated from there. This process has led me to this template that we now use daily within our org, and I figured it was time to share it with the world. All the information and fundamental thinking in this template is based on the best practices from the leading minds of product development/management starting from High-level goal definition all the way to progress tracking. Unlike rigid tools like ProdPad or ProductBoard, it's a flexible Coda.io template that you can take and make your own. Congrats! How often do you expect to update the template? Any plans on new features down the road?

@eriks_k Thanks Eriks! The plan is to continously update the template based on feedback from real life challenges or opportunities from applying the template in different orgs, teams, cultures, etc. We already have a few really good insights from existing users who are already implementing this template/way of thinking in their organisations.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. For someone new to product development, how can this template help them get started and navigate the complexities of the field?

@ricardo_luz Hi Ricardo, good question! The template aims to provide a basic foundation of the core principles people should be aware of in product development, by leading through example. Over the past 2 years, I've shifted through a lot of online materials for product development and what I always missed was an example of "This is what is considered a good starting point" go from there. And that's exactly what this template is trying to achieve. It also has quite a few learning resources linked to better explain the core principles I'm trying to communicate.
