Call an AI is a platform for real-time voice AI interaction. It offers role-focused AIs for various tasks accessible via phone call. Talk to a brainstorming companion, a therapist, a technical support specialist - or build your own!
Hey Product Hunt!
Call an AI (callanai.com) is an exploration of the capabilities of real-time voice AI, where we’ve built various role-focused AI that you can access as easily as calling a phone number.
You can find a variety of different AIs you can call like:
- therapist - Sophie - +1-831-621-5216
- daily planner - Alex - +1-562-568-9264
- idea/brainstorming partner - Page - +1-856-219-0371
- technical support - Marvin - +1-606-766-2556
- parenting coach - Michelle - +1-606-708-8473
- journaling companion - Ryan - +1-828-581-4387
Early folks who have called in have found it surprising. The first 4 minutes are free to call in, but if you want to have longer conversations just add your credit card, and then it’s $0.15 / min for longer conversations.
In our early tests, folks had long conversations with these AI, and it’s helped them think through problems, and also solve technical issues - for example one of our early testers had his mom call one of these AI to work through a tech problem she was having, and it helped her solve her issue!
It seems likely that more and more of our interactions with AI will happen over voice, as it’s often just a higher-bandwidth medium for interaction. If you try to give a phone call to one of these AI, you may well be surprised by how advanced, and human-like the voice interactions now feel. We’re exposing these voice interactions via phone numbers, but they can just as easily be brought to the web, or to meetings where you can chat with real-time voice AI.
These AI can also have memory, to remember your previous conversations (think an accountability partner that remembers what you committed to, or a therapist that recalls your past conversations). They can also be connected to knowledge, so they have specialized knowledge within a given domain, and they can be connected to tools in order to take actions based on your conversations.
I started working on this as a weekend hack project because I wanted to set up a health coach to call my mom on a daily basis and quickly check if she’s got all she needs for a successful day. I also wanted to have an interactive thought partner I could call to quickly talk through ideas, and have it create a note for me in Notion with everything we discussed. These are a few small examples of where some of this might head. We’re excited to hear what sorts of use cases you’d like to be able to set up!
What sorts of AI would you’d like to have set up to chat with? You can let us know here, in our discord, or by giving our feedback gathering assistant Max a call at +1-606-766-0983
Whether personal, or business use cases, we’d love to hear from you! Some of the use cases we’re interested in include coaching, executive assistants, customer support, training, surveying, information gathering via voice, and thought partners within specialized domains.
