Hi Product Hunt! ๐ŸŽ‰ Weโ€™re so excited to announce the release of Zenkit 3.0. Over the years weโ€™ve worked hard to make Zenkit the most flexible, easy to use project management tool any team could ask for. This update marks another step in that direction. Hereโ€™s some of what weโ€™ve included in this release: ๐ŸŽ‰ Published collections: make any Zenkit collection public on its own webpage โœจ Embeddable collections: visitors can interact with collections on any website ๐ŸŽจ A redesign based on the new Zenkit design framework ๐Ÿค“ A publicly documented API ๐Ÿ“ฑ Multitasking support for iPad ๐Ÿ˜Ž 'Assigned to me' filter for My Calender ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ MS Teams integration (coming soon) ๐Ÿ“… iCalendar subscriptions to sync with any calendar app Weโ€™re most excited about the new published collections - you can use them to easily share project updates with clients via a link, publish a roadmap online, or embed calendars to publicize events. Theyโ€™re also optimized for search so anyone can find your collections in seconds (and you can add meta descriptions!). If youโ€™d like to give it a try, you can sign up for a free Zenkit account today ๐Ÿ‘ If youโ€™ve been with us for a while, tell us what you think! Weโ€™re excited to see what youโ€™ll build and share with Zenkit 3.0

I love Zenkit. At first sight, it looks like an easy to use tool but if you have worked with it for a while it's getting better every minute. It got so many features and possibilities for your business.

Pros:

Awesome Design and a powerfull tool for your business.

Cons:

It needs a bit of time to get to know all possibilities and features in Zenkit.

Siobhan O'Rorke
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback, Jessica! We're working on making it easier for new users to learn how it all works, so you won't run into this issue in the future ๐Ÿ˜Š
Jan Kรถnig
This looks really good, congrats on all the progress! Would love to learn more about the new Zenkit design framework that you mentioned. Is this something that's publicly available or just a better way for your team to build consistent experiences across platforms?
Siobhan O'Rorke
@einkoenig Hey Jan! That's a great question, thank you ๐Ÿ‘Œ Building a consistent experience accross platforms was our main motivation for building the new framework, however it's also totally changed the way we develop. Now any developer on our team, front-end or back-end, can implement features they build immediately without having to send it all over to a designer. It also means that whenever a new feature is released, it's already optimized for each type of device ๐Ÿ˜Ž We are considering releasing it in the future, but we're not sure when or how, so it may take a while if we do decide to publish it.
Jan Kรถnig
@siororke Sounds great! And we should definitely chat sometime soon about how to add voice interactions to the cross-platform mix ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ
Siobhan O'Rorke
@einkoenig I'd love to! I can add your vote to the exisiting feature request ๐Ÿ‘
Lulu
The published collections feature sounds really cool but I have a few privacy concerns... Can there be an option to require a password?
Siobhan O'Rorke
@lulu_93 Great question Lulu! We don't have that option for published collections yet - once they're published, anyone will be able to find them. We're considering adding a password option in the future, but the best thing to do for now is encourage the people you're sharing with to sign up for Zenkit ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Zenkit product is, in my opinion, THE leader in this 'getting work done collaboratively' world. I work for a large company which is moving forward with AGILE techniques so Kanban and concept maps thinking are comfortable here. However, the corp standard is not as nimble as Zenkit, so I still find myself leaning on it in order to run my strategies and tasks without leaving anything behind. The move toward being Microsoft-friendly is huge! Thank you. Keep up the great work.
Siobhan O'Rorke
@karl_guenther1 Thank you for your kind words, Karl! ๐Ÿ™ We're so glad to hear you love Zenkit so much, and that it helps you run your projects more nimbly. Thanks for sticking with us!
Jonas Wi
Pros: It really helps keeping on track with my business and personal tasks. It's a great tool for working together in a team. Pretty flexible and powerful Nice UI and UX Cons: It takes quite some time to fully unlock the potential of it I am the CTO of a startup and since we stared using Zenkit for our development processes it really improved our workflow!
Siobhan O'Rorke
@jonas_wi Thanks so much Jonas! I'm so glad to hear Zenkit has been helpful for your team, and that you're enjoying the new UI ๐Ÿ™Œ
Jota Perez
Zenkit Helps us a lot to organize our daily work and to be able to establish objectives goals with determined times.
Siobhan O'Rorke
@yojota Thank you so much Jota! I'm so glad to hear that you and your team work so effectively with Zenkit ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Oleg Baobei
Thanks a lot for the update! Just a quick question: According to your roadmap, a Gantt chart feature is in the works. When will you be releasing it? Would be nice to get an answer! Best Regards
Siobhan O'Rorke
@oleg_baobei Thanks so much Oleg! Glad you like the update ๐Ÿ˜Š We are planning to release Gantt charts/timeline view for Zenkit this year.
Matthias Binder
Hey, cool update guys! The mobile apps got so much smoother and easier to use ๐Ÿ‘ Good job! Keep up the good work :)
Siobhan O'Rorke
@matthias_binder Thanks Matthias! We're so glad you like the apps ๐Ÿ™Œ
tyler couto
Awesome product! Been using it for maybe 2 years after switching from Trello for personal projects and organization, and I wouldn't swtich back. The biggest things for me are the ease and power of tagging and filtering and the ability to switch between views. A few things on my wishlist: app data could be quicker to load (I don't want to wait for network), I want the ability to create a field on a single card (not across the whole collection)
Siobhan O'Rorke
@tyler_couto1 Thank you so much Tyler! We're so glad you've been with us for so long ๐Ÿ˜Š I've noted your feedback and sent it along to our dev team. If you'd like to expand on how you'd use single fields, I'd love to know more!
Felix Marmann

I am the CEO of a startup and since I stared using Zenkit our structure really improved a lot. We started managing everything in a single place: Wiki, Contacts, Projects, Scrum โ€“ instead of using three different tools for that. The great thing with this approach is, that everything can be interconnected and depending on one another. I can link different tasks to certain projects, which are linked to the project manager. I can assign customer or investor contacts to cards and once they're done I can complete them with a single click on a checkbox. With custom filters I can always select, what I want to see. I can filter by project, team member or even contacts. Super convenient and a big simplification of our processes.

Pros:

It enabled me to have everything in one place.

Cons:

It took us a while and some talks to experienced Zenkit users to really be able to unlock the whole power of the tool.

Siobhan O'Rorke
Thank you, Felix! We're so glad to hear that you've found a way to make Zenkit work perfectly for your team. We will work on onboarding and making it easier for new users to get the hang of Zenkit, so you don't face those issues in the future ๐Ÿ‘Œ
Radek Zaleski
I love this tool!
Siobhan O'Rorke
@radekzaleski Glad to hear it, Radek! ๐Ÿ™Œ
Sammy Schuckert

Love the redesign! Makes the interface so much better. Before it was lacking some contrast - itโ€™s been a gray/white soup with some desaturated colors.

Pros:

Flexibility, having the right visualization for different contexts. This makes Zenkit the swiss army knife of productivity tools.

Cons:

Takes a while to see the advantages, once you learned how to leverage the different modes, itโ€™s super easy and effective to use though.

Siobhan O'Rorke
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback, Sammy! We're so glad you love the redesign and that you're happy using Zenkit.
Florian Geimer

I am scrum master in a small startup and started using Zenkit for organizing our sprints. It has really powerful features, that distinguishes it from other tools, like Asana or Trello, but it took a while for my scrum members to figure out the UX. Now, as everyone is used to it, it works perfectly for us! Highly recommended.

Pros:

Amazing tool for scrumming!

Cons:

Took some time for our team to figure out the UX.

Siobhan O'Rorke
Thanks so much ofr your feedback Florian! We're so happy to hear that Zenkit works perfectly for you now :) We hear you regarding the onboarding - we will work on making it easier for new users to figure out how it all works.
Daniel Tallentire

The API gives me a lot of control over the issues and tasks I love being able to create items on a mindmap, and switch to Kanban, then action them with a Eisenhower matrix.

Pros:

The new API The ability to switch between different visual representations The mindmap view

Cons:

Out of the box conversational integration

Siobhan O'Rorke
Thanks so much for your your review, Daniel! We're so glad you're getting to grips with our API. I'd love to hear more about your 'conversational integration' feedback (either here or via email to hello[at]zenkit.com)
STYNG

We tried many different tools and Zenkit was the only one, that offered all the features we needed for our organization.

Pros:

It has a fantastic design and really powerful features.

Cons:

It needed some time for us to get to know and understand all the possibilities.

Siobhan O'Rorke
Thank you so much! We're so glad you guys are enjoying using Zenkit! We're working on making it easier for new users to get on board ๐Ÿ™Œ
Bogdan

Have been using it for quite a while and me and my team love it. Love interconnections with other databases. Really helps with managing teachers and parents.

Pros:

Mindblowing convenience working with databases, easy to use navigation and speed of light.

Cons:

You gotta watch intro video. That is the only con). After that very smooth and intuitive interface and work.

Siobhan O'Rorke
Thanks so much for sharing your review, Bogdan! I'm so glad that you and your team love using Zenkit. We'll make sure to improve our onboarding & keep the intro video up to date ๐Ÿ‘Œ
Tahar Saidi

Zenkit is really intuitive and offer a lot of functionalities. You can adapt Zenkit to your way of working unlike many others trello like tools.

Pros:

Intuitive, user friendly, collaboration

Cons:

Nothing

Siobhan O'Rorke
Thank you for your kind words, Tahar! We really appreciate it ๐Ÿ™
Pablo Garcia Smith

We are amazed that Zenkit isn't drawing more users from the businesses we interact with. On a regular basis we encounter companies with problems we solved with Zenkit.

Pros:

Our teams to use it as our knowledge base, our CRM as well as our collective project / task management tool.

Cons:

It's versatility and power make onboarding a bit slow. Seems daunting to some.

Siobhan O'Rorke
Thank you so much for your feedback Pablo! We are working on improving onboarding and making it easier to get started ๐Ÿ‘
Admin Kingsley

Using Zenkit in a school and never thinkig about going back to google docs again!)

Pros:

Tagging is a bliss. You can tag in one spreadsheet and see it in another!

Cons:

During 1 year of use it crashed once. No data lost, but i was scared.

Siobhan O'Rorke
Thank you so much for your feedback! We're always working hard to keep the database stable and reduce the likelihood of this happening again.
