Hey, we went through dozens of interviews 🗣, more than 10 iterations of experiments 🧪 and had a crazy development time 👩💻 in order to get where we are right now.

It’s been 2 years since our first launch on Product Hunt.
Since then, we’ve been working hard on developing and improving our product - YouTeam, a platform for building remote development teams. Despite a growing number of software development agencies and freelance platforms offering their services, finding a development team which matches one’s requirements still remains an extremely stressful, time-consuming and risky endeavour. That’s why our goal was to build a solution allowing startups to save months of time and many thousand dollars of their runway through bypassing the entire recruitment curve.
Dozens of sprints, meetings and discussions, and here we are - delighted to introduce you to YouTeam 2.0, Offshore Dev Team Builder.
So how does it work?
First, you complete a short wizard describing your project: its type, technologies needed, monthly budget you plan on, and the roles your team requires. Here you also get an option to choose the preferred setup: you can hire a team co-located at one of our certified development offices and managed by an experienced PM OR you can select individual developers and combine them into a team.
Having defined your requirements, you get access to the Team Builder, where you can browse through the exclusive talent pool of software developers, review them and highlight the best matches by adding them to your Candidates Room.
Here is what makes YouTeam 2.0 different:
1. All developers are thoroughly vetted through HackerRank;
2. The team will be co-located at one of our certified development offices, with a dedicated PM who will make sure all trains come on time;

I’ve tried this tool myself and have to admit that it’s really great to have access to a database of developers who meet the criteria you indicated in the questionnaire. You can check all available info like previous projects, years of experience and rates just by browsing through a list of developers.
Pros: easy to use, vetted talent.
Cons: limited choice of some roles, e.g. UX/UI designers.
@eugenelata Thank you eugene. Indeed the first version is focused on developers, with strong emphasis on Web-related tech stack. However we plan adding more UX/UI designers in the future - as well as DevOps engineers, QA, etc.
I like that Ukraine has another cool startup. But I'm scared that it will remove "faces of our developers" even more... But I understand that demand is huge and our recruiting sucks.

@arthur_tkachenko Thanks Arthur, what do you mean by "removing faces of our developers"? If you mean that companies that want to hire people won't know whom they actually hire, that is not YouTeam's case. We set up interviews with relevant and best people, and everyone can go through the candidates profiles matching their criteria before even getting in touch.
@kengu_rut I just want to have more startups and less outsourcing in Ukraine. If you'll be able to protect our developers and remove a middleman - founders/managers/recruiters, I'm totally fine with it.
Congrats with the launch! What is that makes you different compared to, let’s say, Fiverr or Upwork?
@svetlana_shevchuk Thanks! This product is for building an offshore team - so you want it co-located and managed. You cannot get this by hiring freelancers at Fiverr or UpWork.
The very cool product that shows with the great transparency all the candidates that can be a part of my team.
What I love about YouTeam is that it’s an all-in-one solution. I can search developers by technology, schedule an interview with shortlisted candidates, hire the whole team, and even pay them within a single platform. I don’t need anymore to email dozens of agencies requesting their rates or project estimates. On YouTeam, I can see all developer rates and decide immediately whether that fits my project budget and do I want to move forward with those developers.

@daniil_kopilevych Thank you! The main challenge was to find an intuitive UX for building a whole team. We couldn't find any product examples to benchmark - so had to build from fundamentals. Took me over 50 customer interviews to find the clue :).

1) dev shops apply in the Partners section;
2) Our Partner Relations team does a due-dil, checking the background, previous clients as well as legal side;
3) Only about 10% of dev shops make it to getting their developers listed;
4) We test developers using HackerRank for Work and post the score in their profiles;
5) We also pre-interview the developers ourselves before they can get on an interview with the customer.
We tried 2 developers and both of them had trouble communicating as the english skills were not good enough and also provided below average work that needed to be corrected by our other provider Cloud devs.
