I tried with 3 YouTube videos. First and second one didn't work, even though it had subtitles. Third one worked, but it translated the German subtitles into English. I wanted to learn German, not English. @norayr_melkumyan
@eva_yoo1 mmm that is strange, I have been trying this since morning, because I really liked the idea. It worked perfectly. On this video you have shared there are only English subtitles originally so that is what you are seeing I guess.

The first thing I thought about was how Kindle revolutionized reading by providing a distraction-free dictionary which made the whole experience much richer. Nowadays, most of my lexicon-expanding knowledge comes from videos, so this is a fantastic need gap that you have identified.

Pretty cool for English learners but I was disappointed when I watched a Japanese video. Are you thinking of adding support for other languages?

@astghik_yedigaryan Awesome. How about translation from one language to another? I think that would be a game-changer. I signed up but there was nothing that I could see about getting updates. I can see myself just forgetting about this product while I'm waiting for features.
@deadhippo Thank you for the feedback. Since this is a prototype, we limited it only to English. But yes, we will also support the other languages and for all types of videos, not only youtube.

@leiq_yan the next step would be working on our own, more sophisticated captioning, so you can use this anywhere not only YouTube. We’re also going to turn Wordbook into a Chrome extension.
I just tried it!!!!!! It's impressive!!! 😍 Thank you for making our lives easier! It helps to learn the topic of the video and simultaneously growing you English library!!! 🧐 I enjoyed using it. Hope you'll extend it adding an opportunity to apply this to the any video with subtitles at least via Chrome extension!!! I'd like to save words from Netflix or other movie websites as well so it could help and would be so cool!!! 😋 Please, think of it too!!!
