WellSpeak is a mobile app that helps you to become confident in your English speaking skills. AI and smart algorithms will help you with pronunciation and show how easy it is to speak like a native 😎"
Hey @sergii_alekseev and team! Awesome idea and beautifully executed. Did you find that you could leverage a lot of existing technologies out there on the market to shape the product or did you have to develop a lot in-house?
@dr_dani thank you for the question. If we are talking about AI and speech recognition, then I can say that a huge amount of services allowing you to simplify your development. You do not need to create everything from scratch.
@sergii_alekseev thanks for responding! Not trying to dig out any company secrets here, so just "slap my hand" if it comes across like that, but did you find any services being dominantly better than the rest? Because frankly, besides Dragon Dictation and one more primarily for academic use (can't recall the name now), I found the rest to be more or less rubbish.
I love the idea! it breaks the barriers to learn a language, when you are to ashamed to test your skills in public. Will this app will be avaible for other languages as well?
@fresh_food the ability to practice other languages was considered as a part of the scaling strategy. Now we are focusing only on English. Once we achieve our KPI with this, we can start working on the other languages.
Howdy PH community!
@sergii_alekseev, Edgar, and Andriy built WellSpeak - an English Language Speech Assistant to help you learn to speak English fluently, easily, confidently.
Unlike other solutions that are focused on expanding vocabulary or matching with native speakers/tutors, they focus on practising phrases and getting instant feedback on what to improve in spoken English.
Give'em some love!
Just installed. Still playing g around with the interface, but first impressions: smooth modern design with a lot of potential. Being the son of immigrant parents, this is something that can definitely benefit a lot of individuals. Congrats on the launch and great work!

Hey makers! Congrats with the new design and new milestone - release on PH! I'm proud that I was involved in the first version of the app. Now it looks much better! Wish you all the best!
Yes, we are targeting people who just started to learn English. I know how you feel right now because I had the same issue when I started to learn English when I was 22 )
I participated in speaking clubs and had not been able to say even "Hello, my name is Sergii". My heart was beating so fast at that moment )
In case you consider invading into the Chinese market(Which is mandatory thing to do for you). I'd strongly recommend you to pay more attention to the native app stores, e.g. Huawei store, MI store, Tencent store, etc, since the Google play market is not available on the Mainland.
This kind of app will definitely go viral in China. Since, Chinese pronunciation, unfortunately, is quite poor and the tendency for language studies is rapidly growing for the last ten years and it doesn't seem to be decreasing.
Do not lose your chance to grow with you the best :)
thank you @bohuzov for advice. We keep in mind this factor. We have to do it first with android and then consider other app markets.
One more thing that we are working on right now is retention and trying to find our product-market fit )
@akos_farago It definitely is. Besides, the application allows to select App interface language, which is good. Some users might be at elementary level, even though they are willing to study foreign language, so switching language must be optional. In my opinion, you should avoid any kind of UX constraints, especially when it comes to the onboarding stage.
@bohuzov@akos_farago what I have found when I was doing competitors research, that people from Vietnam complain a lot when there is no UI translation :( so we decided to implement it.
@anh_nguyen_hoang positioning. They are about improving accent, we are about braking language barrier. From the feature perspective we have AI to talk to. They don’t. All dialogs are predefined, our assistant can learn from you and change the context on the fly. It allows people to emulate real conversation
@ugurpolat yeh.) that's pain for us ) Most people in Asia are using Android. Can you please share with us, what problems have you faced with other apps?
@sergii_alekseev The application you made is actually very specific and beautiful (UI, UX) I have never researched on google play to see if there is an application similar to your application.
