Why we built it?
We originally launched as a general engineering productivity tool, but kept hearing the same question: "How do I know if my AI investment is paying off?"
After hundreds of conversations, we realized teams desperately needed visibility into their AI usage. Some engineering teams are 10x more productive with AI tools, while others barely see improvement. The difference isn't the tools themselves, it's how they're being used.
We decided to build the analytics layer that was missing.

Hi Adam - congratulations on the launch. I run a team of developers. Just wondering is it possible to get AI suitability and other metrics directly on Github. I am not sure how convenient it is to open a new platform to check out the metrics and make decisions.
@hkalra16 We don't currently support this, but it's something we're looking into. In the meantime, I’d encourage you to give Weave a shot, you might find it’s easier and faster than you’d expect to check metrics and make decisions. Thanks for the suggestion!
@zyade Great question! Weave is a platform meant for everyone within an engineering team. We encourage ICs leadership and management alike to take a look at their own performance (for ICs) as well as their teams (for leadership and management).
Been using Weave for months and there's nothing better than making changes for running our engineering that feel like they worked, and then getting a confirmation from Weave that backs it up quantitatively.
I am very curious behind the mechanisms of determining work output?
@jesseliii We scan every PR using our ML model to compute an answer to the question 'How long would this take an expert engineer? (we call this a Weave hour). Being able to aggregate this across all PRs allows you to get a good sense of output :)
Finally, a tool that not only helps teams adopt AI but actually shows how well it's being used. The combination of setup optimization (like Cursor rules linting from GitHub) and smart suggestions based on actual usage is incredibly thoughtful.
