Wanna Kicks allows people to try-on shoes in Augmented Reality. The app’s premise is simple: users use the smartphone camera to focus on their feet. AR try-on helps to visualize the sneakers before they are delivered to the buyer's door.
Hi Product Hunt community!
Chris, thank you for hunting Wanna Kicks on Android!
I’m Sergey, the CEO at WANNABY. Before joining WANNABY, I was an engineer at Google Search Ranking team in Mountain View, CA.
WANNABY is a Belarus-based startup that is building a mass-market mobile AR platform and technology that allows consumers to try-on shoes before making a purchase. The startup has recently announced a number of partnerships with iconic brands and industry leaders such as GUCCI, Goat, and Farfetch China.
Today we are officially launching our Android app version. This is the first virtual shoes try-on for Android platform, and I must say it was quite a challenge. We launched an iOS version about a year ago, and all that time we’ve been working hard to make Android live. Due to the larger variety of devices and manufacturers, it was a real challenge. It was in beta for several months, and today we are very happy to move it out of beta and launch it officially. We believe that ability to try-on cool sneakers virtually on any device contributes to sneaker community in every point of the globe.
Our application is free for users. We would like to analyze and understand how AR helps users to make the right choice and order the product that they really like.
I tried the app and got addicted immediately haha
Shoes look so real on you, those models you are using are extremely high quality.
I can see a lot of people using this app and buying shoes on it, I don't see a reason not to use this if you are buying online.
They probably just need to hear about it.
Don't know much about AR but if it can be so precise to suggest the size of the shoe you need than that would be the ultimate thing!
