Following on from Bens question, have you looked how long the process would take someone to register/vote?
Hey @anthony_stylianou! I've done some user testing with our app and completion times are typically between 2-3 minutes (for both online & mailer registration)
@bentossell they did a great job and we drew inspiration from the existing options of registration tools + identifying the bottlenecks.
The biggest problem area we found in most experiences is when you live in a state that doesn't have online registration so you have to use a printer to print out a form, get an envelope and a stamp then mail it. I own zero of those things so that instantly raises the bar of effort required for me to register.
We added functionality to our to tool so that you can fill out the form on our site. We'll mail it to you with an envelope + pre-paid postage, you sign/write in your SSN and stick it in a mailbox. Done 🎉
@fouadmatin yeah totally agree - I have a form on my kitchen top this second that Im meant to sort out but physical mail doesnt agree with me either...
So does this mean that physical mail still needs to be done, you just take out some of the other painpoints (printing/postage)?
We have that sorted by the government in the UK - but I still haven't filled in anything or sent back 😁

I used VotePlz last week to download my absentee ballet since I will be volunteering for GOTV on election day in a swing state! It was super easy!
Beautiful simple sign up flow, looking forward to using. Initially got an error message on signup last week but was glad to see the message suggest it captured my email and would update me when fixed.
Are there plans to use analytics data from the site to optimize the successful registration rate?
Interesting decision to use a select for birth year selector. This is a number people know without thinking and can be very far down on that list. What made you decide to go with a select and not a text or number input?
Cool project! We need more people at the polls so anything that helps and engages is awesome. I see the link to overseas voting info but there is this cool project by Avaaz that aims to simply voter registry on for the 8M US Citizens abroad - might be worth an integration :) https://secure.avaaz.org/globalvote
Love it. Suggest adding a “I am a U.S. citizen.” to the form on your site since that is a hard requirement.
The voting procedure can be daunting for new immigrants and this solves a huge problem for them. Great job @sama!
Building a voter registration form and taking it live is easiest of all. But, when it comes to making these forms eligible for all states/cities/counties is next to impossible. Most of these registration forms get rejected and you will soon start seeing ton of support calls or complaints from states. There are so many rules to satisfy that you will eventually give up. I was a developer building these voter registration forms for USPS affiliate. Good luck.

Our goal is to make it easy for you and your friends to vote, which means lots of UX improvements to both the existing flow and for when you want to help a friend register. Actually helped a housemate register in a few minutes while we were in an uber pool. We're releasing a referral leaderboard this week and got a couple of sweet projects coming up soon 😉

@airswoop1 Hey Kevin - there are some oddities with our voter registration lookup service where it doesn't like birthdates/addresses. I just saw your email -- I'll follow up 1-1
I'm registered to vote, but I've moved since then. Does this handle address changes?
@parkeragee For sure! VotePlz can help you re-register to vote at your new address.
@parkeragee Change of Address is another application. Go to USPS gov site. You need to register every time you change address.
