GPT 4.1 pricing in Windsurf is revealing...

Frankly these prices (now that the free trial is over) do make sense.
I found GPT-4.1 to be a really bad coding assistant. I used it when the task was straight forward and simple (because it was free), but for anything that was complex or might touch more than one file, I fell back on Sonnet.
I found Sonnet had to clean up after some of GPT-4.1's messes... almost like GPT-4.1 was a drunk frat boy that trashed the dorm over the weekend and Sonnet came in to tidy up the place like a responsible, thoughtful, capable roommate.
I didn't dare touch o3 reasoning models though (at 7.5x and 10x credits!). That's like Zuck hiring the Winklevi twins to build The Facebook...! (Or was it the other way around?)

Agree, I think this makes sense as well. And I'm right there with you, I'm stuck on Sonnet. It's just been consistently the best model for me so far. Absolutely had the experience of messing around with another model and then finally just switching back to Sonnet to have it clean up the mess haha
