Do you predict people will actually watch AI-generated films?

Here's an idea we are thinking about:

Netflix for AI generated fims, pretty self explanatory

🧠 Problem

This week, Google unveiled Veo 3, its latest AI video model capable of generating hyper-realistic videos from text prompts. The line between AI-generated and human-made content is blurring rapidly.

Yet, despite the surge in AI video tools like Runway, Pika Labs, and Sora, there's no centralized platform to discover, watch, and rate AI-generated films. Audiences are left sifting through fragmented content across various platforms.

-The generative AI in movies market is projected to reach $3.86 billion by 2033, growing at a CAGR of 26.8%. (EINPresswire.com)

-The AI-generated show "Nothing, Forever," a parody of Seinfeld, garnered over 14,000 peak viewers on Twitch, demonstrating significant audience interest. (Wikipedia)

đź’ˇSolution

A dedicated streaming platform for AI-generated movies and series, curated by genre and ranked by community votes. Think of it as Netflix meets Reddit for AI-created content, offering a centralized hub for discovery and engagement.

⚙️ How It Works

-Watch: Browse AI-generated content across genres like sci-fi, comedy, and drama.

-Vote: Community-driven upvotes surface the best content.

-Create: Future features could allow users to generate their own content using simple prompts.

-Personalize: Tailored recommendations based on viewing history and preferences.

🎯 Target Users

-Movie buffs : Film lovers who’ll shape the platform both as viewers and creators. If you can think of it, you can generate it.

-Early adopters: Tech-savvy viewers interested in AI and new media.

-Content creators: Individuals using AI tools seeking a platform to showcase their work.

-Curators and reviewers: Users who enjoy discovering and sharing unique content.

-Niche communities: Fans of specific genres looking for fresh, AI-generated content.

đź’¸ Business Models

The platform runs on a subscription model, but early on, each AI-generated film or series is ticketed individually - giving creators the ability to build hype through trailers, teasers, and sneak peeks on social.

Viewers buy tickets, leave feedback, and become co-creators in real-time. Since AI allows for rapid iteration, creators can actually improve their films based on audience input - making every viewer a contributor, not just a consumer.

Fascinating concept, Furqaan. I do think people will watch AI-generated films—especially if the content feels novel, emotionally resonant, or experimental in ways traditional media can’t afford to be.

The idea of a “Netflix for AI films” hits a real gap: right now, discovery is fragmented, and there’s no clear home for this emerging genre. I especially like the community curation angle, Reddit-style voting could surface hidden gems and democratize taste in an industry often ruled by gatekeepers. Or, a Kickstarter for AI movies?

Curious to see how you’ll tackle quality control and narrative coherence, since AI still struggles with long-form storytelling. But the potential for collaborative, iterative storytelling with audience input? That’s a game-changer.

Launching soon!

@qurious Thank you for the thoughtful take, Saurabh!

Totally agree - the democratization angle is what excites me most. Traditional filmmaking demands so much time, capital, and industry access that it’s tough for small creators to break through or get recognized.

And yeah, I think with anything AI-related, you have to build with the assumption that the tech will keep getting better. After seeing Veo 3, I’m pretty confident we’ll get there sooner than most expect.

This is a fascinating concept and perfectly timed given the rapid advancements in AI video generation! A centralized platform dedicated solely to AI-generated films could really accelerate the discovery and appreciation of this emerging art form. The community-driven voting and iterative feedback loops you propose could foster a unique creator-viewer relationship, making content truly dynamic and responsive. While some viewers may initially be skeptical about AI-made films, innovative storytelling combined with personalized recommendations could gradually build a loyal audience. Looking forward to seeing how this evolves—definitely a promising space for both creators and viewers who want to explore the future of entertainment!
