Verbally is your free meeting helper. Display & time-box your agenda, stay on time with meeting & speaker timers, plus more. Works in seconds with Google Meet. Empower your meetings with efficiency, top-of-mind focus and a few friendly nudges.
Congrats on the launch! I was looking for ways to increase meeting productivity for my team and this seems like the way to do it! Do you plan to have post-meeting features such as export tasks or decisions to a task management / documentation tool as well?
@cem_bulut Thanks for the Feedback Cem! Let us know your feedback once you tried out Verbally in your meetings!
Regarding the post-meeting features:
We currently have "Meeting insights & tips for improvements" in internal testing. An integration with task management / documentation tools (eg gdocs) is also on the roadmap.
To make sure you plan and stick to your meeting outcomes, we recommend to always put as a last agenda point a "Next steps (5 min)", so you can make sure, to wrap up the meeting properly and get everyone on the same page before the meeting is over.
**👋 Hey PH community!**
Thanks so much for dropping by our first ever PH launch! We’re super excited to be able to share Verbally with the community and would really appreciate any honest & constructive feedback that you have!
**🐣 How we started**
We’re a pretty young company, formed in 2021, with a diverse range of nationalities mainly located in bustling Berlin.
We’ve all worked at companies before where we’ve faced frustrations in our daily meetings, which took over a significant part of our time at work. Whether due to a lack of structure, communication misunderstandings, or a general feeling that you don’t have a chance to raise your thoughts amid all the noise! 🙄
Studies show that up to 50% of our time in meetings is wasted. It’s not only killing productivity, but this can also be super frustrating and demotivating.
We reached out to more folks in that boat and were able to validate some of our pain problems, which were even more exacerbated with the switch to remote & hybrid forms of working during the pandemic. 😷
And so, we set out to solve the problem that we are all facing: **Unproductive meetings**.
We thought there must be some way to improve meetings and culture in the workplace, to empower people to gain some more structure, and to have an unbiased helper to nudge people into better meeting etiquette, regardless of whether that’s in an office or at home. 🌎
**💜 Verbally: Your little meeting helper**
Everybody needs a little help sometimes, especially when it comes to those pesky meetings. That’s where Verbally, your virtual assistant, comes into play. It supports you in all of your meetings whether it’s online or hybrid, a 1-on-1 or a weekly demo, on Zoom or Google Meet, Verbally’s got your back.
**😻 Here’s some of your favorite features**
😅 **Start a Meeting with a Smile:** Break the ice with funny & motivational gifs
🎯 **Stay Focused:** A visible agenda creates focus & ensures you don't forget anything
⏳ **Time is Precious:** Stay on track with your overall meeting & add timers for each topic.
🙊 **Meetings not Monologues: Our Speaker Timer gives** a friendly nudge to overly talkative folks, so that you don’t have to
🎬 **That’s a Wrap!:** A heads-up message 5 minutes before your meeting is about to end so that you can finish on time & have clear steps to move on **** (Google Meet only)
**🕵️♂️ What’s coming up next?**
In the coming months, we plan to drop:
🗓 Calendar Connector with Google Auth - no more remembering to invite our assistant each time
🤓 Meeting insights & tips for improvements
🔥 Customizable backgrounds: show off your company’s branding with your own custom backgrounds
🚀 **So give Verbally a spin, and please let us know how you get on!**
Verbally is **free to use**, with no installs, credit card details, or asking for your mother’s maiden name. [Sign up on our website](http://verbally.io) and invite our assistant to any meeting in Zoom or Google Meet, it’s really as simple as that! 🤲
Your feedback really goes a long way in helping us blossom 🌻 So please let us know how you get on, including any parts you may have loved, hated, or even longed for! 🙏
Thanks for spreading the love & for all those who supported us in getting here today 💜
Robert
@gordi_braun Thanks for the question Gordi! Our assistant doesn't access any audio/video data, so we are also not recording anything. We've been focusing on data security since our start 🔐
@robert_schuetze congrats for the launch. Really like the tool. No hurdle to try out. Really helpful for Agenda Management and keeping track on "Speaker time".
Can't wait for the new features to try out!
@christoph_nicola Thank you Christoph! Thanks for the feedback and support along the way! 💜 From the upcoming features, anything in particular you'd want to see first?
Lovely product! Congrats on the launch. During our meetings, we usually screen share the agenda in Notion and I'm afraid as cool as this it, it'll break some of our workflows :( I wonder if we can use it in other areas 🤔
@temirlan Thanks for the feedback Tem! I see your point, with the current version, even if not ideal, i have a suggestion: Invite the assitant to you meeting and and copy and paste your agenda from notion into the meeting invite to have the full impact of verbally . You can also do so on the fly in the meeting, once you click Save (and no need to send the update to everyone), it will show on the assistant screen a few seconds later.
But we also have on our road map an integration with notion, so it can pull the agenda from there. Therefore great that you mention the use case, so we can give it stronger weight 😊 we will keep you posted!
Let us know if that solution was a feasible workaround?
@temirlan Hi Tem, this is a use case we are looking into. I would be curious how exactly you are using Notion for this. Are you open to doing a quick interview (for a 20€ amazon voucher)?
Congratulations, Robert! We designed this feature too, but your UI is much better than ours! It's also smart to resolve data from event details to use as the agenda timer. Interested in seeing how you handle control during the meeting, such as pausing the agenda or jumping to the next agenda.
@danielwayne
Thank you for the feedback Daniel! 💜
You can change everything on the fly by updating your meeting invite:
1) Change the timer 👉 edit the start/end time of the meeting
2) Change the content or duration of the agenda item 👉 simply edit the agenda in the meeting description
Click on "Save" (no need to send the update to everyone) 👉 The changes will be visible on the assistant screen a few seconds later
And pro tipp:
you can also put in sub bullet points if needed 😊
@robert_schuetze Great work! Maybe a customized brand watermark would be a pro feature. Also, are you trying to make a Chrome extension and Zoom app, I think it would provide a better UX, users could control all those in GMeet and Zoom client instead of jumping between 2 platforms. We are working on it :)
@robert_schuetze@danielwayne
Hey Daniel, thanks so much for your feedback & experience - super useful stuff and it's so nice & refreshing to be part of such a supportive PH community 💜
We're happy to say that we are able to support branded backgrounds right now (we call this Custom Background). Currently this just work in Google Meet, but Zoom's coming soon 🤞
In our FAQs under Tips & Tricks (https://www.verbally.io/faq) you can see the example from Omio there too. Plus it's freeeee! 😻
Steps to get a custom background:
- Check out the FAQs to see if you like what we can do for you
- Write to me! nathan@verbally.io and I'll send you over a template 🤓
- Send back the design & we'll implement this / @vgdub will do his magic in the earliest sprint 🪄
@danielwayne@nate_bck was quicker in answering the question 🏎
Regarding the Extensions for Zoom and Chrome, that is something we have on the roadmaps as well, to avoid jumping back and forth between 2 platforms as you said.
For you the main use case would be to interact with the Meeting timer and jumping to the next agenda point, or do you have any other use case in mind?
Very cool product, congrats on the launch today! My favorite types of products are ones that are solving a REAL problem... which you totally are. Also appreciate your focus on this being a low-touch tool... seems to integrate so seamlessly into meetings. Excited to give it a try 🚀🤝
@hugh_lagrotteria Thanks Hugh, very much appreciate the kind words! 😻 We wanted it to integrate into your workflow, as everyone is using already so many tools and it's an effort to get used to yet another plattform/tool - so super glad to hear that you can resonate with our approach! Let us know how the assistant worked for you once you gave it a try! it literately takes 30 seconds to set it up 🚀
Or is there already anything that particularly stood out for you in terms of functionality?
@robert_schuetze I haven't used it quite yet, but did just share it with my co-founder @jonathan_nass. We're going to try it out during our next status call 💪
Amazing tool @robert_schuetze, congrats on the launch! 🎉
Can't wait for the 'Calendar Connector' - would definitely make a difference if I wouldn't need to add the tool to the participants each time manually.
I personally wouldn't mind installing something, but I agree 💯 that those tools should be low-touch and not interfere with users' existing work-flows.
Keep it up 🙌
Congratulations @robert_schuetze and team! This is awesome. More than the productivity bit, another aspect that excites me more is the fact of how it can encourage a more equitable participation. All the best
@archisman_das Yes definitely !that's something we focus on while building Verbally.
Often participants that have something valuable to contribute, but are just naturally less outgoing, are kept out of the discussion, just because someone monopolizes the discussion.
The assistant helps as a neutral observer that points out the "facts" without judging whether its good or bad.
Any other parts you see that we could be helpful with in terms of improving equitable participation?
@robert_schuetze Meeting Dynamics are a beast in themselves. I think there are quite a few folks who have good ideas but are introverted in nature. So you need to nudge them a bit to get them sharing their ideas. But often that requires someone who is a good at leading and moderating the meeting.
@archisman_das Yes i agree, thats our aspiration with our virtual assistant 😊
Please let us know your feedback once you gave Verbally a try in your meetings!
@kartik_sundar1 Thanks Kartik! Yes, definitely! 🚀And thanks for asking, it seems to come up quite a bit 😊 You can already sign up for our waitlist on our website, so we can keep you posted on our progress. So i guess you use mainly Microsoft Teams in your company?
I used several agenda timer before, but this one is the most impressive. Look at its sharp Look and smoothy animation, I am wondering how they do this, magic?
Congratulations on the launch! I love the feature of being able to gently nudge those who are occupying a lot of the time. Can be difficult to balance wanting to give others space to have their voice heard, without having to tread on toes or seem rude to others.
@maria_kono Thanks Maria for the feedback! 🙏
yes totally! we've seen as well, that people maybe intervene once max twice if someone speaks too much, but mor than that can be perceived as rude. The "neutral" assistant does not stop after 2 times 😉
Is there anything else in terms of behavior that you've seen in meetings that we could potentially help with?
Awesome work @robert_schuetze
This definitely makes my Google Meet meetings way better.
Lets think about an integration with https://unping.com at some point :) would love to see it there as well.
@pmueller Thank you Philip! 💜Anything in particular that stands out for you? Or something that you are still missing?
Yes, let's talk regarding the integration to unping.com. We are always up for improving more meetings! 💪
@pmueller thanks for the feedback! Super useful to hear - we've heard this a few times so it definitely seems like a popular feature! We'll be sure to look into this and keep you posted
Already using it for all meetings in 200 ppl org, love the tool, makes meetings so much more productive and cant wait for what is still to come wrt features!
@nate_bck@olliroskopf awesome, thanks! Certainly things we have on the radar, we will keep you posted on our progress on the meeting analytics side 😉 Meeting insights are currently in internal testing 😊
@robert_schuetze Congratulations on a super debut!
We look forward to the new features.
But already your product is improving our meetings via Google Meet.
Greetings from https://useme.com/ team!
@dawid_szkielka That's great to hear Dawid!! Happy that we could already support your team to improve your meetings! Anything in particular that you liked?
@robert_schuetze
* Welcome screen with Agenda (You have cool Gifs ;)
* Agenda that changes in real-time, according to timeboxes set by the Assistant Verbally,
* Integration with Zoom and Google Meet
@robert_schuetze
Editing of the agenda on the fly in the meeting interface (Google Meet)
Not only by changing the description of the meeting in the Google calendar.
@stasky thanks so much Konstantinos! Well it's better late than never😉 Hope we're able to save you some precious time going forwards! Give us a spin and please let me know what you'd love to see in Verbally next! 💜
Congratulation to Verbally Team! Your product made me more conscious of my time in meetings and how to run them more efficiently. Since using Verbally, I have been able to cut all my sessions by 15 minutes, which saves me hours each week!
@marek_cynowski An hour each week, nice!!! With all those cool features coming up we will push that to two hours, hehe... Very much appreciate your support, on product hunt and as a users with valuable feedback 🤩
@marek_cynowski thanks for the feedback! Giving back hours of life time every week is what keeps us going 🤩
Which part of the tool / feature has the biggest impact on your meetings?
WOW, @robert_schuetze , congrats on the launch!!!
This looks amazing and could be super helpful for our team... Will Verbally be available for WebEx anytime soon? I can't wait to try it out and will for sure follow the next developments.
@kathrin_seidel Thanks a lot! 🙏 You can already sign up for our waitlist for WebEx, so we can keep you posted on our progress. Its on the roadmap, first we are tinkering away with Microsoft Teams. Stay tuned 📻
