Hey everyone! I'm Merek, the creator of Vellum. I've been enjoying making wallpapers, which have been downloaded tens of thousands of times, for a couple of years now. You can find them over at my site http://www.merekdavis.com/wallpa.... It's been a goal of mine to create a wallpaper app with features that I've always wanted but it's always been on the back burner to other projects. While @wesbillman and myself were working on implementing new features/optimizations for Mextures (a photo app we built) I noticed that we could use some of the features to build a wallpaper app. It's pretty great to be able to create an app from testing certain backends/features! We enlisted the help of @heybrandon to help with the UI and Vellum was born. We wrangled up a team of artists and curators to find images that work well with mobile layouts as sometimes a breathtaking image doesn't work well on a portrait screen. Included in the app are hundreds of images at launch ranging from landscape to the abstract. I really think there's something for everyone. We incorporated a customizable blur tool into Vellum to make gradient wallpapers from the included images. Also included is a slick preview tool so you can see what the wallpaper will look like on a lock screen and a home screen. We have new wallpaper packs being released regularly so you'll always have something fresh. We really hope you enjoy Vellum, and if you want to submit your work, we're always looking! And before you ask, we are looking into bringing this to Android! (hit me up Android developers!)

Hell yes! I wonder why all other wallpaper apps suck so much? Except for wlppr (which I bought quite some time ago and use(d) only it's wallpapers until today)

Great imagery! Great feature to preview in lock screen or as background. Would be even better if you could flick through the images in lock-screen or background preview mode.

Great wallpapers! Love the blur tool. Only thing I'm not too keen on is the Unsplash collection. They're all really great photos, but it seems like there's a lot of noise going on - you mention that you take ones you like and edit them further. Great work!
