We just opened the UTCP Registry, a curated list of 230+ tools for your agents

Hey Product Hunt đź‘‹

As we were tinkering with Universal Tool Calling Protocol (UTCP) we kept hearing about the same hurdle: “Cool spec… but where’s the list of tools I can actually call?”

So today we’re shipping the UTCP Registry, a public, community-maintained index of UTCP providers. +230 providers to start with, just hit Copy, paste the JSON into your tool list, done. No wrapper servers, no vendor lock-in, just direct calls to the tool’s native HTTP/gRPC/CLI endpoint.

Why you might care

• Direct calls, zero wrapper tax. UTCP lets agents talk straight to existing APIs, cutting latency and letting you keep your own auth/billing rails.

• Community-driven. Every provider can be updated via GitHub PR, so you can audit the JSON before you trust it.

• Day-one blank slate. The registry opens today, first movers get instant visibility. ⚡️

We’d love your feedback on

1. Categories you’d like to filter by (vector DBs, DevOps, AI models, etc.).

2. Security gotchas we should bake into the submission checklist.

3. Your own provider! Drop a PR and we’ll merge within 24 h.

đź”— Try it: https://www.utcp.io/registry

Add a tool, propose a provider, and let’s make tool-calling a little less painful.

This looks very innovative, whats the main user base you guys are targeting to solve for?

Great initiative! Curious to know if the registry will be updated regularly as new tools pop up?
