Interesting. I was just using slash Photo slack integration the other day. They use pictures from unsplash, flickr and shutterstock.

Love the innovation @unsplash! ...One thing to consider would be allowing photographers to write the stories and narratives behind these photos. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words. Perhaps even a thousand-word limit for these designers/photographers to describe the photos, the people, the landscape and everything about each image. Building in a Medium-type component within the dashboard. Just a thought :) -Ross B

@rossblankenship @unsplash Thanks for the feedback Ross! I'll make sure to share your suggestion with the rest of team. 👍

Hey everyone! I’m Naoufal, a UI Engineer on the Unsplash team. On the first Friday of every month, us at Unsplash host Make Day  (https://makeday.unsplash.com) — a one-day event where we encourage everyone to build something new and share it with the world. For February’s Make Day (my first on the team!), our designer @kirillz and I thought it’d be cool to have access to Unsplash’s collection of 80,000+ CC0 (https://unsplash.com/license) licensed photos directly in Slack. So we teamed up to make an Unsplash Slack App. Using the public Unsplash JSON API (https://unsplash.com/documentation), Unsplash for Slack is able to: 1. Get a random photo 2. Bring up photo results by keyword 3. Bring up an Unsplash user’s latest photos So, if your team’s Slack is looking a little blase, or you’re tired of the seizure-inducing /giphy command, check out Unsplash for Slack. And if you want to know more about how we made the app, check out this short blog post I wrote: http://backstage.crew.co/the-mak... Thanks! I’ll be around this afternoon to answer any questions you might have.

This has been in the Slack App Directory for a little while I think - tell us whats new :)
Naoufal Kadhom
@bentossell That's right. The app did go up on the Slack Directory ahead of schedule. Sometimes timing releases can be a little tricky when dealing with review processes. Looks like you're one of the lucky ones who discovered it before launch 😉. Hope you enjoy it!
