Do you know any PR distribution tools or services that actually WORK (i.e. generate media mentions or help you get in front of journalists and contributors)? PS: And it would be nice if at the same time they don't cost a fortune... 😉

Let me be the first to answer: we used einpresswire (the cheapest one we found a year ago) and were super upset with the results: they automatically publish your press-release on their own webpage which is actually a trash bin of useless PR pieces, but during a year and around 10 releases pushed off, there were never any other mentions, generated through this tool.

As for me, no better tools than your own effort when you have small budget. Contact journalists directly, write personal emails for each. If your product and topic is interesting it will work. Several months after these journalists will know you as an expert and come to you for the comments for new articles or just mention you in their future materials.
