Typejust — An alternative for Ghost and Substack
Typejust is build as a response to the overpriced writing and publishing platforms. It is an alternative to existing platforms like Substack and Ghost, but offers more flexibility and better pricing.

@rrhoover Thanks Ryan! That means a lot! Pricing is indeed the obvious point for many. However, we want to give writers more flexibility. For example, we provide an API so that users can connect their own websites. This way people are not forced into working with a standard that has limitations. On top of that, we want users to be able to send out emails easily from their own domain without paying extra.
We’re also exploring ways to give analytics to writers (like beehiiv) so they get better insights about their readers. Besides that we’re working on a scheduling tool so that users can schedule publications for each tier of their following (free member, paid member, blog reader, your own label).
To put it simply, Typejust is a mashup of many existing platforms, taking the best features from these platforms and give users fairer pricing.

I thought of building an alternative for Substack and Ghost for a while and I finally want to share what I've been thinking about for the past months.
Substack takes 10% from writers, I think that is way to much. I believe whatever a content creator earns should be theirs. So I thought to try out alternatives but I couldn't find any product that had reasonable pricing, or the features I wanted. This is my response.

@jorrit_keijzer Looks cool! My first question was "why is this better than Substack or Ghost?" I think it'd be helpful to have a clear comparison page(s) between this and competitors, especially since vast majority of prospects would look for that info.

This looks really interesting but I'd want to try it out I think before committing to any of those plans. For $15/mo, I'm not sure it's much cheaper than something like Ghost, and I believe Ghost has very similar features with hosted blog, zapier and other integrations. I'm keen to try this but can't figure out just yet how it's better than Ghost if its going to be the same price when it launches.
Signed up on the waitlist. Would love to give it a try and see stuff already built on typejust. The screenshots look amazing. I would love to have a platform similar to this in terms of UI just for personal writing as well. Congrats
@fardeenkhan Not yet, I'm just beginning to setup stuff up. I want to see if people would like to use Typejust before building it. If you're excited about the project I'd love to talk to you and see if I could build something useful for you and everyone else that signed up!
