This is really useful - casual and fun. Questions: Will it be possible to export the answers and the transcription so they can be embedded into presentations?
David OKuniev
@andreasduess At the moment, you can just COPY and PASTE. Suggestion noted, thanks.
Andreas Duess
@okuiux Thanks David. For us a usage scenario would be to actually use this in a research study with a younger audience.
David OKuniev
@andreasduess That's great, please don't hesitate to get in touch, would love to hear more about how that went

Wow @okuiux I love this - I've just tested the iOS app and it is brilliant that you allow people to record with or without video. I also love that people can create a question without having to create an account and respond in that same way. I did find the audio recording on iOS somewhat glitchy when testing it On Android and using Chrome as the browser and could not hear a recording. I did upload the audio and it said it had been sent to the server just in case there was a problem with my phone setting. Nothing is there on the app as a response. On Android and Firefox it worked fine. I can see the reply when I look on my phone - but not sure if I should be able to see all the replies on desktop by the video question? I have some questions also that you can find here https://www.videoask.it/q10f70a5c

Sounds useful for a startup pitch or a school presentation! 🙌 I'm curious, what do the people who respond and provide feedback get in return?
David OKuniev
@zelena Atm nothing ;(, but looking for smart ways to incentivise answers would be awesome, for example integrating bonus schemes like Bonusly would work great for internal use cases.

This looks like a superb way to get feedback for our mobile app. Pose a related question and get a bunch of answers with 30 seconds of effort. Looking forward to trying this out!
David OKuniev
@fredrivett Would love to hear how that goes, keep me informed...

Hey! This looks really cool. I'm curious, what are the best use cases you guys had in mind when creating this?
David OKuniev
@alon_keren At the moment given that you can only ask 1 question per videoask + the fact that there are no options to collect an email address for example, the use cases are limited to feedback.
David OKuniev
Hello Hunters! I recently stepped down as co-CEO of Typeform to focus my efforts on driving our company vision through a more experimental approach to product development. VIDEOASK is a new experiment we've been working on at Typeform in collaboration with www.theleftbit.com In under 30sec you can create a "videoask" straight from your iPhone and distribute a unique URL for anyone to answer by video or voice via their desktop or mobile browser. No sign-up needed from the respondent, no closed networks/groups, no friction. You'll receive video/voice answers straight to your phone + everything gets transcribed to text (via amazon transcribe). It's a great way for you to get more intimate with your audience at scale. Hope you like it! D

@okuiux I have been walking around with the idea of vide interview generator for a long time. What I would nee is to be able to ask more than one question. Is that in the pipeline? Keep up the good work.
David OKuniev
@erwblo Would be the logical next step

I tried to test something different for getting user feedback for our next launches. I can see the market moving more towards voice and video rather than typying... Who has that time anyways?!

Pros:

Really easy to use on both ends. It makes a tedious process like feedback, funner and quicker to get. I can see myself using this product!

Cons:

the transcription process something takes a while, but its an awesome feature anyways!

I find it difficult to see a target group with only iPhones ;-) When can we expect other platforms?
glifocat
@erwblo You don't need an iPhone to answer, just to create the Videoask :) Anybody can reply by voice or video without installing any application.
David OKuniev
@erwblo Answering to videoasks is done through the browser, so anyone can answer! Building on the other hand is on the iphone only
David OKuniev
@erwblo @glifocat That's the whole point ;)

Neat! Could be a really useful "last minute vox pop" tool if you would consider adding multiple questions and/or a simple video editor. And, in general, if adding just a bit of neat editing capabilities, to play with the material as it comes, it might be quite a big thing in casual snacksize social content - fun polls, speak-ups, reviews, etc. We are playing with this idea ourselves, albeit with quite different mechanics and end purpose. Peer vids on-demand are definitely the thing.

It could be a great way to get more feedback from users/customers.

Pros:

Easy to use

Cons:

Phone's cameras don't make you prettier (they actually tend to distort you)

Joandi Hernández

I use it to meet with my friends and schedule dinners with too many people to do it with whatsapp or similar apps, this one makes really clear who's up for some fun and in the process plenty of jokes and laugh happen because of the video feature.

Love it!!!

Pros:

Agile and fun!!!

Cons:

haven't found any cons yet as the app delivers what it promises which is super important.

Is there potentially room for security issues? I.e. someone sending back inappropriate videos or does VideoAsk have a process to vet those out?
Chad Littlefield
LOVE VIDEOASK. Brilliant and simple. I’ve been using to collect video testimonials and to have more personal, asynchronous conversations with my coaching clients.
Bernat Vazquez

I'm organizing a Christmas party and I'm asking my friends about the theme of the costumes. So far I received 80% of responses and very fun videos.

Pros:

Easy to use and lots of fun videos responses

Cons:

I haven't found anything to be improved yet

This looks great, the accessibility aspects throw uses wide open. Any chance of sign language responses being transcribed? Collecting feedback where literacy or familiarity with a written language are barriers or where visual impairment makes mobile communication trickier look like possible uses. Or testing language learners. Multiple questions will make this an absolute winner.
David OKuniev
@fontalamh Thanks for adding this Rob, I do think video and voice opens up new possibilities for visually impaired persons...
Damian Matheson
This was awesome @okuiux. Any plans to allow the user to download the responses?

This is really cool 😃

What a great idea. I’m about to try this.

Huh? Description is convoluted.
